Man I remember we would rewatch the original series a good few times on VHS when I was younger. I think Space Balls is just as epic. Too bad that one is only 1 episode.
Good to see someone younger chime in on this. Genre has nothing to do with it. Hardly anyone watched Star Trek originally or the first movie. Just about EVERYONE saw Star Wars when it came out. It's worth a watch by anyone. Go in with the same low expectations you have right now. And be sure and start with the original Star Wars: A new hope.

But seriously, when did you guys first let your kids watch Star Wars? I'm concerned my 4 year old will be scared.
I was 5 1/2 when I originally saw it. I remembered it quite well. That said, I was 8 when I saw Empire, and I think that is a far better age to start.
