What it means is Dwight steals every rebound from the other players for stats. Guys like Yao didn't care about grabbing rebounds, if someone else is there for it he will let them grab it. Dwight gets mad when other players get his rebounds because he is a stat padder.

Rebounding seemed to stop being an issue last night in the 2nd half when the entire team started going for rebounds.

Howard is arguably the best rebounder in the league, but the team is relying too much on Howard grabbing all the boards. Most of the time the players just run out to initiate a fastbreak.

What this team needs is more balance like the 2nd half of the Memphis game. Not every player should be running out for the fastbreak, and not every player needs to stay behind for the rebound.

Howard boxed out his team to get his rebounds.

    That is not true.

    14.1 OReb -10.8 OReb=3.3 OReb difference.

if Rockets could get those defensive rebs.
    then 3.3 Dreb at 0.98PPP =3.2 points

since Opponents get those rebs. 3.3 Oreb at 0.85 PPP = 2.8 Points.

so Rockets actually let other teams getting additional 2.8 points instead of getting 3.2 points themselves. That is 6 points difference per game.

    TO is similar.

There are a lot of reasons why, not the least of which is the fastest pace and most of the time the other team is trying to keep up, 30-40 more shots go up in Rockets' games than in most others. Lots more rebounds are to be had. We score the most and give up the most points by far. That takes more shots=more misses. We are 10-5 and people are b****ing about a team that has played together for 3 weeks.

I bet you all were pissed when you won the lottery and only got $3 million

We are both looking at a domain, Rockets games offensive rebounding. You are analyzing the domain to determine the cost of losing 3.3 defensive rebounds. I am looking at the domain and analyzing the total offensive rebounding point disparity. Both are valid.
