I find throwing grenades in crowded public areas will work wonders for stress.

    Anyway... what's this thread about?

Oh, yeah... bad stretchers... yeah... I've seen dudes off emergency vehicles fall off of them stretchers... don't worry, they will bring you another one.

Whatever you do...don't watch the Astros. They will raise your blood pressure and heart attack risk every time on top of whatever other stress your having all because they have to do everything the absolute hardest way to get the job done. My advice...drink a few beers and watch Seinfeld re-runs. :D

Dude, in the last two weeks I have experienced the following:

My girlfriend of almost one year calls and tells me we "need to take a break."

I get attacked by teens throwing water balloons while biking. :D

I eat it while biking in the Greenbelt in Austin and trash the skin on my legs.

I get a ticket for running a red light that was full on yellow.

I didn't get to bill for three days of work because of the damn hurricane.

So yeah - it's been a ****ty way to end September. Ya know what though? I'm still alive & kicking ass.

F the negativity. Things will get better.

Horrible month, not going to go into details, but my life is in a rut more less right now. I was depressed for days, talking with family and friends helped.... alot. The problem still hasn't gone away, and I'm still pretty pissed but atleast I think I'll get better.

Sishir Chang....your probably the smartest poster on this site....i think you can figure things out.....you should not allow work to dictate how your week is going....usually after a bad exam i tell myself that i tried my best and there is nothing more i can do about it.....so take that perspective....

And if you slacking at work…then whatever dude….you deserve the bad week. :D

Thanks for all the good advice. I strongly considered Moestavern's advice but I couldn't get grenades, just some dynamite, and the damn fuses kept on going out. ;)

I give y'all some more info here's the situation last week we had a big project where the client said they wanted to work with us and the contract was a formality. Well anyone come contract negotiations they drop us after just one negotiation meeting even after we say we are willing to meet with them further and work with their budget just that we feel their budget is possibly too low given what they want. Over the course of the week been dealing with a couple of other projects where due to the clients being unclear and disorganized we're stuck trying to figure out how to get their project done in time even though they're not organized to give us the information timely enough to do it. The real downer was I had another client complain about some drawings where there were some errors. Minor errors but this client is touchy. Anyway the errors though not serious were still my fault and to placate the client we're doing a whole project review and fixing any further errors for free.

It sucks dealing with bad clients but it sucks even more when its your mistakes that are costing you and your partners money.

Besides the work stuff I bought a house last week and want to do some renovations to it before winter but and when I move in but haven't been able to do anything besides mow the lawn due to my work load. I've also been trying to do more volunteering for disaster relief and feel bad about not being able to help out more.

There's a few other things there but this has turned into enough of a gripe fest and I'm going to bed.

Dude, you're a good guy. One of my favorite posters here.

Maybe what you really need is to get laid. Ok, that was a joke. It doesn't hurt, though.

You seem to be having an issue with deservedness. You deserve it. You're cool. He/she/it is lucky to get your time. As you integrate your own appreciation of what you have to offer, each moment becomes more interesting as you live. Sometimes our good works is just being. It's funny how that works.

I think I feel what you're experiencing. It sounds very familiar. You're good at describing things. I bet you can describe the sound of breathing, or the feeling of the early morning air changed by new sunlight, too. Do that. Live your life and be good.

No kidding. My car almost stalled out near downtown when a puddle I was driving through seemed to suddenly turn into a lake.

    Thanks Pasox. Really appreciate it.

Yeah getting laid would probably be help and I've had some women problems the past few months too but I'll save those for one of Jeff or Isabel's relationship threads.

I'm wondering what you mean by an issue with "deservedness"? Do you mean with recognizing one's self worth or expecting for other to give you your due?

Like a lot of people I often don't feel I'm getting my due respect but try to keep that in check for fear of becoming a real fat head. I got one of Dave Cebrero's graphics as my wallpaper saying "Stay Hungry, Stay Humble" and try to live by that but its not always easy. Sometimes I feel its good I got struggles because if I had become successful I would probably be insufferably arrogant.

Try rewriting that post, except try to spin every self depricating or negative remark into something positive or humorous. I know its cliche, but I've found humor helps "right" my perspective and make bad weeks a little more manageable.

    Hope that helps!

I really don't think there's any danger of you turning into a "fat head".

Life can be kind of a blow to the ego sometimes. Myself, I have to find another job next year (which I wouldn't worry about if I was just sticking within the options in my field, but I would rather just do something completely different). At that time I will have to move and make a final decision about whether I will allow Ferdinand to be a part of my future. In a way, I wanted things to turn out like this so I could be free, but... I've still failed at my job here (according to the people in charge... who know nothing about me or my work and don't care to give people a fair chance, but whatever, I'm still probably not that great) and I also have yet to be truly successful in any relationship (because, for true success, the person has to care enough to respect me, as well as just being a decent partner overall). I've had some moderate success in music and have felt tempted for a while to try to get some formal education in the arts, but it may not be wise. I don't know yet what I would do with it when I got out, and I'm still a little shy about expressing what I want. What if I'm just being stupid? But time is running out and I will have to decide something soon.

Bottom line is - I'm 30 but I've always been young for my age, and that's only getting worse. I suppose it's OK since I don't have kids or anything, but when you wonder if you'll ever grow up or if you're capable of being the adult for a change... Anyway, my sympathies to all those who are having a bad week, month, year, or life. :)
