We are headed in that direction. At first it bothered me but every person that has complained about word choice has been very polite and understanding so I believe their complaints are sincere. In my office we have discussed openly what bothers people - when Ed isn’t there.
Rockets03 knows a lot about coffee and got on me about saying McDonald's coffee is respected. I worked at two different coffee companies in Houston. One that had the Mickey D's account and one that lost it. At the one that lost it they said McDonald's coffee is so good because it doesn't taste burnt and that's exactly the difference. I don't get Starbucks love for that burnt taste. Might as well leave coffee in a hot pot for 24 hours.
I vaguely remember hearing/reading somewhere that coffee has a reverse effect on your body after consuming alcohol. I do not recall where I heard/read this but for some reason it jumped to the front of my mind when I read your post.
Coffee in moderation (and a caramel macchiato, etc. is not coffee) has been shown to be good for you actually. Before the ronas, did a coffee cupping at our roastery on an empty stomach. Immediately followed that up with gettin tequila smashed with a bunch of friends. A combination of caffeine and tequila on an empty stomach - felt like I was gonna die for the next 2 days. I was feeling legit drunk the next day and slowly wore off the day after.
When I'm travelling and can't find something good that is locally roasted, I will always opt for McDonalds over Starbucks. To me Starbucks smells like burnt charcoal. I simply can't drink it without vomiting. Respected is a relative term I suppose. I don't know anyone that knows anything about coffee that would say McDonalds coffee is to be respected. But whatever floats your boat amigo. Good coffee also doesn't have to be expensive. A good cup of coffee/latte is only slightly higher at a good local coffee shop vs fn Starbucks.
Google and a bunch of other big tech companies are changing blacklist/whitelist to blocklist/allowlist. I've been told this is being patched into the apps I use for work in the coming months. The documentation has already been changed. Crazy times.
I remember you aren't a fan of Starbucks. McDonald's is really particular they buy their own beans. As a matter of fact the company that lost the account lost it by stealing out of McDonald's inventory. Farmer Brothers is the company with the Mickey D's account. When I left they were trying to get the Duncan Donuts account who is also very particular. I haven't had their coffee.
