I'm not trying to tell you what you should do; I just want to point out a few facts, because I think you underestimate the value of the players I'm offering. First, ruben mateo has more homers (22) more rbis (94) and more stolen bases (16) than carlos beltran. The only area beltran wins in is Batting average (.316) to (.297). Next, Ben Davis is a much better player than Brad Ausmus in homers (20) rbis (73) and batting average (.267). He's younger, too. I am also offering a good prospect in the deal. Not my best prospect but a very good one nonetheless. And who knows, that prospect might end up better than the ones I keep - it has happened before.

The point is cat, you really should look at the WHOLE offer and not just how much STAR POWER you think a player has. If you did, you would realise davis and mateo would be much more effective than just beltran alone. And the prospect I offer would offset the loss of Brad Ausmus. I mean come on ausmus isn't that valuable in the first place.

And as far as the top prospects goes, why would I offer two very good players and a can't-miss prospect who will eventually be as good as jones anyway. I'd just as soon keep my players and my prospect or just give you the prospect alone since you clearly seem to think those veterans are minor players in the deal, something I just wanted to giveaway. When in reality, I think the players a major part of the deal - at least to me they would be.
