movie theaters dont make money from how many movie tickets are sold they make all their money at the concessions.
the box office money goes to the producers/actors etc... individual movie theaters also do not make their own ticket prices.

My father did it with us all the time. Also, my older brother took me and my younger brother to see either White Men Can't Jump or Doc Hollywood, but then snuck us into Basic Instinct afterwards because he hadn't seen it yet. I complained and he threatened to make us "walk home." My mother also used to lie about our age so we coud eat kid's meals or whatever. She would also drag to just about any time-share sales pitch around (even while already on vacation in Cancun and Aruba), so she could get whatever free prize or free lunch they were offering. And there was always a lot of "grape-eating" at the grocery, so in general I've actually developed an aversion to taking discounts, freebies or using gift certificates or gift cards for anything.

No, because one movie at a time is enough for me and I am not that desperate. I don't condemn the practice, though.

back in middle/high school, I did it all the time

my parents were the one that got me to do it, my parents are like 60+ and still do it

I would still do it occasionally, its usually a double feature, I used to do a triple feature back in the days during the summer when alot of movies came out at the same time, now, not so often.

funny story, one time i got caught. My cousins were with me, after watching our first movie at First Colony 24, we tried to sneak into Freddy vs. Jason when it first opened, so they were checking tixs. So I had this brilliant idea where we went into Uptown Girls, went up the stairs, then went to the back exit since u had access to the other 3 theaters that were showing up front, some employee followed us and asked for our tixs. I was like "umm my parents have them and they're in line in the concession stand", we walked back down in the theater and got the hell out of there.

I've done it once. In 1999, I paid to see South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and when that was over, I sneaked into another auditorium to watch Wild Wild Worst. I knew the latter film would suck and had no intention of paying money to see it.

And no, I don't feel any guilt about it.

I like the practice of teaching the Man a lesson, but its kind of hard to do on a first date.

sure, when i was still in high school.. did it a few times. Now it's not worth $10 or whatever it is to do something like that.. and I can't imagine feeling like sitting down for so long. I'd rather go home and see one of the many movies I haven't seen on DVD or something than sit in for a 2nd in the theater

No. There's only a few movies a year that I think are worth watching in the theater anyway. It's rare that there's more than one movie in the theater at a time that I want to see anyway.

I used to go with my sisters and her friends to the movies on Fridays and watched two movies. I was in elementary school then.

It bored the **** out of me. We used to do it at the Loews at Memorial City Mall, remember that?

The theaters were far from everything.

How many of you that said no are avid movie goers in the first place? Sure, sitting around for 4 hours can be tiring, but I love movies.

Cinemark used to offer a movie pass that you could by and see all the movies you wanted for a year. They only kept that up for one year. I had one and ended up seeing around 50 movies that year. I was single and didn't have kids at the time so it was a lot easier.

My wife and I saw two movies today. The kids stayed at grandma's and we enjoyed the quiet time. I probably haven't seen two back to back like that in a few years.

For the record I did buy a small bag of popcorn ($4.50).

Did it semi-intentionally when groups of friends would go to the theater but see different movies. If my movie ended early, instead of waiting in the lobby I'd go find a seat next to friends during their movie.

Only time I remember purposely doubling up was way back after my parents took us to watch Secret of Nimh for the 90th time. They decided they hand enough suffering of that, then we all snuck off and watched :

    In college, but not recently.

My current big movie sin is sneaking snacks and water in when I take the kids to a Disney movie.
