I still wonder how many of these we had last season when we went 22-12 without yao. Look at the lakers struggle without bynum. Bynum isn't nearly as good as yao. I think people look at the things he doesn't instead of what he really do well. If the rox had better players, tracy could maximize. How many easy baskets does yao get from tracy? Under 3mins and the rox with the lead and ball, who u want with it? My bad, the system will make the shot.
Your moniker gives away your opinion on the matter. My question is how did that team that blew the 20-pt lead get the lead in the first place?
He makes us a better overall team, provided he improves his FT and don't jack up too many Js. I have voted option (a).
SMB, I hope you are right, and if T-Mac plays well and "helps" not "lead" this team past the 1st round, I will be the first to eat crow. To say, we are a moron because we think T-Mac makes the team worse, when EVERY stat proves it, is absurd. Also, injuries are part of the game. Like it or not, the fact McGrady is always hurt, ruins his value.
to be honest, T-MAC is good but not good enough I just can not bear the one that we pay 20,000,000$ each year, and whenever the team needs him, something wrong will happen to his weak back or somewhere which just seems like put-off. p.s. Responsibility, which T-MAC lacks of, is important to basketball. There's so many examples for T-MAC in the alliance, AI, KB, KG etc.
First off, I made it very clear in another post else where that I am a ROF not a YOF or a TOF. I like watching them both play a lot, I just don't think they mesh well. Second, you completely contradict yourself when you say "adjust the overall record to games that the two play together" and "It's a TEAM sport and wins matter" Well last time I checked injuries factor a great deal into a W-L total for a season. When you are injured you don't just get a free pass to conclude the season as a wash. The experiment is not working. Could it change? maybe, and I am rooting it does, because I realize T-Mac is not going anywhere until the off-season at the earliest. Please don't make assumptions and lump me into the "YOF" category
This is partially my point. I think T-Mac is an amazing talent (although the effort level isn't always there). I think Yao is an amazing talent (his heart is always there). When they both are on the floor without one another they elevate their game. When they are both on the floor together they are both passive and struggle. I really hope that RA can help the two figure out whatever it is between the two that they need to over come.
If we don't trade him in this season, we probably will trade Tracy next season,At that time,It would be a difficult trade to negotiate with the other team
are u serious? even this yr, we are 17-13 with tmac (and 4 games he had to leave and not play even a half and we lost all 4), we are only 8-7 without tmac. that's the most important stat. so how does tmac make this team worse? i'm curious to know. so i'm guessing you don't go by wins and losses then. tmac cannot lead this team past the first round by himself. do u see how tough the western conf. is? even kobe can't even do it and the last 3 yrs have been his BEST INDIVIDUAL YEARS. one guy can't do it. he will need yao to play at his peak, the role players contributing consistently, and he himself needs to play better unlike last yr (but more to dallas series).
I picked No.3. I dont think we are complete yet. We are still on a process of learning(including FTs )
Theres no doubt in my mind he makes up a better team. What he brings to the table you can't get that just anywhere while I see a lot of people want to trade him. Lets not forget that hes not playing at 100%. The same people that are saying trade him will be the same people that will say hes the best player in the game when him and Yao take us to the promise land. P.S. I say it before I'll say it again some Rockets fans are crazy.
You never lose faith in your players. Everyone believed we could win back 2 back titles and we did. Believe it.......three times!!!
It's so awesome to see that 75% of this board still is willing to give T-mac a chance at the very least. RocketsNation is indeed still in good hands. Whew! To the small minority that wants to trade t-mac and think he makes this team worse. He's not going to be traded before the deadline, so why not support him and wish well for our team, instead of attacking the man for everything he does. It's like he's &%* if he does and %*# if he doesn't
I think your poll is skewed...it should have been just yes/no. I think it is more fair to analyze the results as yes=the first two options and no=the second two options. So really it's closer to 50/50.
