    I'm curious to know what happens when the OP strikes out at the bar one night and then the unattractive F Buddy denies him the same night (perhaps she has found another hookup).

    Not saying that would answer whether or not you find the girl more or less attractive. But jealousy would definitely come into play. Or inferiority.
