I agree. If I could go back and say "I have to disagree that pot doesn't harm people", I would, but after reading your responses, I don't think I was wrong.
Honey, you forgot about crystal meth. Neither of us liked it much, but we have snorted it. And smoked it off foil, as I recall. Awwww. The couple that does drugs together stays together. (For the record, I like ecstacy best, but the aftereffects (Tuesday blues) are the worst, especially for semi-regular users.)
I have my DARE book from school and it has some FACTS about mar1juana. I know some people think it does nothing, and maybe it doesn't in small amounts (I have no experience.) but here are a few things it does: Makes you sleepy and have slurred speech, along with giggles and munchies. (duh, I knew that.) It impairs short-term memory, reduces ability to perform tasks needing requirements and coordination. Anxiety abd panic attacks also increase. Long term use can lead to paranoia, unpredictable behavior, and reduced immunity to disease. Can damage the brain and permanently lose memory. Increased risk of lung disorders and someone who smokes 5 mar1juana cigarettes a week is taking in as many cancer-causing substances as someone who smoke a pack of cigarettes a day. A decrease in testosterone and lower sperm counts. (yikes.) Delays puberty in males. Increases testostorone in women and may mess their cycles and cause infertility. Just a few things caused by weed. Obviously, most od these are self-inflicted things, but some things can lead to other people getting hurt. Just giving away facts. edit: darn, looks like the weed talk is over. if anyone wants facts on other drugs, I got them.
OK, just be a b****. You are obviously good at it. I won't whine about what has happened to me that involves drugs, people, and death. There's a difference between a stupid person under the influence of drugs and a smart person under the influence of drugs. I understand this. You don't.
I'm...guessing this is directed at me? What mistake are you talking about? And if the rest of that is about what I was saying....well, I'm not even going to try and explain the correlation to you. I was just pointing out your first post completely disregarded the idea that pot could possibly affect someone other than the user. ...or affect the user in negative ways. Again, which is what I'm guessing Falcon had a problem with. Advocate it if you want (which I don't even think was the point of the thread), but don't be so surprised when someone who has had it cause a family tragedy takes offense.
After football on Sunday is prime time for the drug companies. Just about every drug ad says just about the same flarking thing. I must admit though I just couldn't live without my Botox.
Guessed wrong. But maybe I should take offense when the starter of this thread says "...and, no, alcohol and cigarettes DON'T count! " writing them off like they don't do anything to anyone. Maybe thats because the "il" isn't there for them. Insult the person, not what they are doing. The pot doesn't walk into the car and drives it. The alcohol doesn't walk into the car and drives it. The person does.
BTW, there were some good real life situation in my book which showed situations where it asks you what to do. I think one has a kid and his brother going to a party. The older one drove them there and drank a lot. But the little kid wanted to get back soon to study for his test. If he didn't, he'd fail. Of course, you'd probably say that he should just wait or get another ride, but this would probably not happend in that situation. Just pointing out that its not so easy to not drive after using drugs.
I've been called worse things by much better people. I am sorry if you've been affected adversely by drugs. I sincerely am. But tell me, if you don't learn from someone else's mistakes or tragedies, does that make you a stupid drug user or a smart drug user?
Would you just take responsibility for the actions? You CHOOSE to take the drug or alcohol and you choose to drive. That choice to drive under the influence is because you THINK that you are ok to do it, but your condition does not allow you to make the right decision.
You act like my life is over. You have no clue how my life is right now. I graduated through HS in almost all Honors classes and am now in college. Oh damn, I've been effected adversely sooo much. I don't need to learn about the mistakes of stupid people because I am not a stupid person. A stupid person killed my father. Sure the guy was drunk, but does that make everyone that's drunk stupid? I don't think so.
Weed: Maybe 4 times a week Cocaine:On Special events, like birthdays and crap Crystal Meth: Once, Liked it Special K: Was alright Shrooms: Loved Em
come on red you gotta try it again and give it another shot. It''s by far the best from my experiences. X: I used to do ecstacy a lot but not in the last year because it got very old after a while and was never the same. But I've had some of the best times on X that I wouldn't trade for the world. Coke: I've done coke a few times. It's pretty fun, very intense. You can have some of the best conversations on coke. Acid: I've done acid a few times back in the day and it was great time especailly the visuals I got from the gel cid. Never did it again after having a bad trip. A bit of advise, never take acid when you are depressed about something. It makes it 1,000 times worse! Weed: It's ok, not my favorite. Ice: took a bump and stayed up all night. Scary stuff. Special K: never did... too afraid of the K hole. I've never done shrooms or heroin either. You only live once so I always believed that you should try everything while you're young. Just as long as you don't let it get control of your life. Now that I'm older I have no interest in doing drugs anymore. Unless you're buying.
I hang out with a couple of guys. One smokes pot all the time, One used to but quit. Even though Its been passed around and smoked in front of my face I have never once been tempted to try it. But Today - My friend, the one who still smokes weed did something stupid. He was stoned last night and needed more so he got a a member of the local bloods gang to front him a bag for 20. The guy said he had to pay him back by 5 today. He went around all day trying to get the money but all his sources came up dry. Finally he came back to me and I gave him the money. He said he is gonna quit now because he is scared to get mixed up in all this. I just had to tell him Its only gonna be a one time thing, and if he ever does it again. Well, Im not gonna be there to bail him out. The Kid is only 16, I want to keep him outta trouble, but they just gotta learn.
What does that mean exactly? If a person has an addictive personality they will find something to focus on - even internet chat rooms.
"That choice to drive under the influence is because you THINK that you are ok to do it, but your condition does not allow you to make the right decision." And everyone is the same and makes the same decisions as everyone else while under the influence? People have different choices while they are sober, so what makes you think everyone is the same while they are under the influence? Everyone isn't a robotic person under the influence like the anti-drug agencies illustrate.
A success story in the making. I'm sure that everyone is happy for you. I am truly sorry about your father. I am being sincere about this. I do think that anyone and everyone under the influence that gets behind the wheel is stupid.
I'm sorry you don't see what I'm saying. I am reminded of a phrase from Varsity Blues...Something to the effect of "You're the stupidest smart kid I know."
