YES, 1978 I was on the Jr High basketball team and after the one game I made my ONLY point, the other smallest guy on the team tried to pick a fight with me on the bus home. I held him in a headlock and punched his face several times. Dont know why we fought but I felt terrible afterwards. fighting is bad.
My last one was a barfight... I was sitting with a couple of females and one guys just leans in on my table and starts macking to one of the girls...She wasnt with me but I had already seen him and his friends outside the window looking at them and then laughing about it. Obviously they wanted to show me no respect and try to be funny. One guy is just standing by me with this stupid look on his face and I just nodded to him like yeah I know what you punks are doing. He said to me what the F you looking at and I just shook my head like "oh no I have no choice now buddy its on!" I got up he swung and missed I clocked him on his right jaw and he swung and missed me again he was obviously drunk. I busted him another time on his face and he tried to grab me and pushed me back against a counter top. He went to swing again but I blocked his arm and punched him yet again and again til someone broke it up. I was surprised he couldnt get a lick on me being so close like that but who cares he got what he deserved. Then one of his buddys comes from out of no where and clocks me on my jaw but it didnt even effect me. I just got mad and wanted to fight with him but he ran off like a wuss. One of these girls that were with these clowns comes up to me and starts crying for me not to beat this guy anymore and I just told her to tell them not to mess with me and I wont. I knew the bar manager all the wait staff so they got thrown out and I ordered another round and continued to party and laugh about the whole situation...The last couple of fights I've had were with drunk idiots who just asked for it... By the way I don't like fighting I'm not a big guy plus I'm on probation so I know its not worth going to prison over some stupid drunk. Or anyone for that matter...Thats why I don't really go out to bars/clubs anymore. Because some people really want to get thier a*ses beat sometimes. I'm a real laid back person I like wrestling with females (naked of course) ..
When I was a kid I got in a fair amount of fights but as an adult I haven't been in a fight of the kind where two guys square off against each other with the xpress purpose of beating the hell out of each other. I have been a few situations where I have had to defend myself and those have been very quick and luckily I've survived those unscathed. As someone who practices martial arts and teaches self-defense I'm very concerned about street fighting and recommend avoiding it. If I can quote my own post from the fight advice thread. Unlike Fight Club the first rule of self-defense is to not put yourself in danger. A street fight with anyone is putting yourself in danger. So Green Vegan don't feel bad that you haven't been in a fight in 28 years IMO you've been smarter, healthier and better for it.
see this is a typo but it's cool because it works both ways. a) "quit it or i'm gonna knock your ass into oblivion" OR... b) "quit it or i'm gonna knock your ass all the way to bolivia." both pretty bad ass things for a chick to say!
Well, I haven't fought just one person for so long... I've been specializing in groups, fighting gangs for local charities...that kind of thing.
I have been in at least 4 fights in my life but none have ever been so noteworthy i would vote yes on this poll. I guess my criteria would be to get or give an injury that lasts more than a week.
I used to get in fights all the time when I was a youngster growing up(like from the age 8-12 years old). This other kid who lived just one house down from me...we never got along growing up. It was probably bad for me cause I don't think I ever won one of those fights. But, at that age, you never really got hurt. I think one time I won on account of his mom was calling him to supper. Boy, did we celebrate that one! Hehe. There was another kid two houses down who was older and 2' taller than me. We used to get into spats as well. I had my most memorable fight against him as I landed a right on his throat. He just cried and cried after that on his walk home. I was victorious. Growing up in high school and college, I never really had anybody I didn't get along with to where I had to fight. I had some strange incidents, though. One time...this older friend of mineput me in a headlock and was choking me. He wouldn't let up and I really was choking. So, when he did let go, I was so pissed I didn't even care who it was. My first move was turn around and clock him hard...which I did. I hurt him but he got mad and upper cut me in the stomach area. So, I lost my breath and kind of walked off bent over...lol. It was uncool what he did, though, and how he acted afterwards...like he was to cool for school and did nothing wrong. He was one of good friends at the time but older and a few grades above me. It blew over but we got each other pretty good. When I was in college, I almost got in a fight when I was at a party. These guys used to get in a very big cooler and ride it down the apartment stairway in the apartment where the parties occurred. It was absurd as you pretty much always crashed at the end. But, they got drunk and did it for fun. So, anyway, I was drunk and I had this empty plastic 2 liter bottle. To add to the absurdity, I decided to time a throw and toss it over the guy as he came down in the cooler...kind of like a special effect to add to the absurdity. My plan was to throw it over the top of him. But, I mis-timed the throw and the plastic bottle hit him in the head. He got a little bump on the head. I didn't know at the time he got hit but I caught word later on he wanted to fight me. So, I went up to him and asked him what was up. He told me he got hit and showed me the bump. I don't know what would have happened or who would have won the fight but I didn't mean to do it so I apologized and we we're cool. He was a friend of my good friend. He thought I was trying to hurt him and start the fight. But, I didn't even realize it hit him. So, we we're cool. I guess if he really wanted to fight then he could have started it and it would have happened. Fighting is too risky nowadays. Even if you think it is over, then Joe Schmo might go get his gun and come back to kill you. How many times has that happened when someone gets into it at a bar and it ends with one guy shooting or beating(with a bat) some other guy to death. You always hear about those things. Also, the guy who got his eyes gouged out and went blind a few years back...that was horrible. Fights used to be cleaner. Now, people are a lot crazier and you just don't know what can happen. Kids used to never bring guns to school when I was growing up...now the damn 5 year olds are bringing guns and crack to school. It's messed up. Nowadays, you run the risk of death if you say something negative to somebody. Forget the fight...you will just get killed. It's whack.
The church league thing reminded me.. I was refereeing a church league game that got out of hand I tossed the star player and after we blew the whistle to play again the Youth Minister/coach jumped on me and took me down and the church league kid started kicking me while he had me down. Nothing teaches sportsmanship like church league basketball.
"There was another kid two houses down who was older and 2' taller than me." Was his name Pat..? __________________ "These guys used to get in a very big cooler and ride it down the apartment stairway in the apartment where the parties occurred." LMAO!!!
I got in fights all the time when I was in elementary school because of my mixed parentage. I remember I was a short little kid on the bus and this ******* kid kept calling me "Nip" and telling me how he was glad the U.S. killed so many japs with the nuclear bombs. Finally, my short temper burst and I slammed him in the face with a heavy history book. He fell to the floor crying, his nose gushing rivulets of blood. After that, I didn't get into another fight in school, especially after my growth spurt. In the USMC, I got in a few fights with some squids (sailors) and I threw one out of a bar in Gitmo, literally. Lesson to Navy limpdicks: don't mess with Marines, it is dangerous to your health.
If you count getting hit in the eye with a fist, and responding by slamming a guy into the lockers... then "yes." If you mean only if you respond in kind... then "no." I voted yes since I ended up winning. Which I define as: it never happened again over the rest of my four years of highschool. Something about slamming the class bully into the lockers as a freshman in the first week of football practice, after he hit you with a fist and a football helmet, all while not crying or falling down gains respect from your peers. Go figure.
