Thank you, JV, I am glad you said that. My question still stands...why is dog consumption so bad while other types of animal consumption are not?

My take on that is dogs are...well, pets. At least most of them, there are wild dogs out there that are so far removed from domestication, but most of society sees dogs as members of society, while a white tail deer is a trophy and/or venison.
It is all psychological... My wife is from Peru, and they eat fried squid, called "calamary". Several years ago, I would never have even thought of eating it, but it's something I actually enjoy since I tried it.

    Roxran,

Point is, that is a stupid and racist attitude (not saying you are). Americans look with a superior-feeling eye to those "primitive" and "barbaric" countries that eat dog.

My wife is from the Phillipines where dogs are not really pets. They are either protection or food. Why? Different attitude. It is meat like any other. Meat is rare, etc. Same in other countries.

This "chinese chicken" crap is just racist. There is no ethical reason why eating dog is worse than eating any other animal.
