When I come around your corner, so slow It'll be the n**** in the damn Polo That's the Ralph Lauren, jackers ain't barring Why I skipped the slab, when I went straight to foreign
My favorite shirts are casual button up shirts that aren't tailored to a tee. I do like them slimmed down if needed though.
I feel if I wear a fitted I'm showing off. When I wear something tight they asked if I lost weight. I have gained weight as of lately. I found out who Joey Grieco was, damn.
I doubt I have ever bought a Polo shirt. Maybe my mom paid for one when I was younger but they are not my style at all. I can't speak to their quality but I do think you should pay for quality and fit if you find something you like.
I wear a lot of Calvin Klein. Clearance sale some months back. I enjoy the quality of their clothing.
Polo is solid...not understanding the hate. Sure, maybe they are a little more pricey than what the avg consumer wants to pay...but so is a Benz. Polo shirts last a long time, so it's worth it if you like that style. Ive never liked the ones found at Marshalls or Ross...they seem like the low end kind of Polo, either in look or fit (or both). I prefer Lacoste or custom shirts...I do have a couple Polos, but I dont wear them for casual use, I usually wear them for dinner parties or more formal events. I also wish Houston had a Pink store.
I actually went to the mall earlier looking to upgrade my Polos for work. But they're just too much for one. I need like 5 good ones to rotate. What's a good brand besides Lacoste and RL? Is Penguin any good?
Wearing 1 brand every day is boring anyway. Try express. Their shirts are reasonably priced. I also like some Penguin and some Le Tigre, just to mix it up. A brand that I buy also is Marc Ecko's cut and sewn line. You can get shirts (when they are on sale) for around 22.50 a shirt, which is a great price for this brand.
The brand, Polo by Ralph Lauren, is not what it used to be. I still have shirts from the 80s that were "Made in USA". As a blind test, I asked several people to examine the domestic vs foreign polo shirts. No one knew where they were made. They all selected the American one; they said it was much better in feel and appearance. Ralph Lauren's other brands like Purple Label still make high quality products although sometimes they are made in Italy or in the UK rather than just America. Black Label is also pretty good, but its aesthetic is closer to German/Hugo Boss styles rather than classic Ralph Lauren. If you're buying suits, avoid the Green Label or Chaps suits that you find in outlet and discount stores. For the better polo shirts, I recommend Fairway & Greene, Sunspel, Bobby Jones, J. Press, and Paul & Shark.
That is stupid, especially on a Houston message board (where it is hot). Undershirts have nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with protecting your quality shirts. I mean mine don't show at the collar if that is what you mean. Very 90's to wear a visible crew undershirt. Otherwise, they have been worn forever because they are not subject to the whims of fashion.
Well, for starters, this is a thread regarding designer clothing. Fashion is very much a part of the equation...you cant dismiss it for the sake of your argument. Second, Im referring to the visibility of the undershirt. Yes, if you have enough buttons done and the shirt isnt visible, then that's fine...but in this instance, Im referring to casual button ups, as mrm32 stated. With casual button ups, you usually leave enough buttons undone where an undershirt would show. And lastly, I'd like to remind you that wearing an undershirt in hot weather only adds to perspiration. And there is always a dry cleaning option to clean the clothes that might come in contact with your combination of water, potassium, sodium, and calcium (you know, those things that cause such devastation to your shirts). If you really want to preserve your clothes, dont wear deodorant that has antiperspirant in it...as that has aluminum based content that stains your shirts (Health tip of the day: Those same compounds can cause alzheimers disease as well as some cancers).
