Have we taken the 3s, lay-ups and dunks philosophy too far?

We should expand into midrange by incorporating the short jumpers in the paint. That's where you start in the midrange. And that's the shot that all bigs should work diligently at until they can hit it at 55-60%.

I personally love the high paint area because it's short enough to shoot quickly and accurately, even if you have to fade away, and the angles and heights that you can bank the ball off the glass along with the area of the glass that you can bank the ball off of accurately is very expanded.

If I were coaching NBA bigs I'd have them doing a thousand catch-and-shoots while on the move in the paint from 6-15 feet daily, with them timed at 100-shot intervals. They'd have to get off 100 shots within a shortened time span that forced them to release quickly and use glass substantially. All staged with cones that they cannot touch and broom handles they have to shoot over, around, and in-between.

I think we can take it further. Stretch 5s anyone?

We need to trade capella for Frye. That way all 5 guys can shoot 3s.

No we haven't, we simply aren't a balanced team. Those who play defense and are good 3 point shooters are a hot commodity as are centers who play great defense and are PNR players. Anderson certainly got targeted and abused last night by Pop.

Offensively we are still incorporating Lou and hopefully we don't do the disservice of not fully using his playmaking/PNR abilities. He seemed rushed and unsure against the Spurs and I hope by the playoffs he's much more comfortable.

Yes, the Spurs, Cavs, and Warriors could all beat the Rockets if they want to play Moreyball. The Clippers also can shoot the three very well, and would be good playing Moreyball.

been like that since 14-15. i dunno how the best basketball players in the world refuse to take mid range shots when their other shots arent going in. weird stuff.
