Guys this happened before i was born, and my grandmother has always sworn it did not happen that it was a hollywood production. I too have always wondered why have we not gone back, surely technology changes and there would be a reason to explore it more. Just curious what your thoughts are on the subject.
It doesn't exist. I've been echoing this sentiment for years and people have been calling me crazy, but what they fail to address is why haven't we been there as of recent? Many people believed the bigfoot pic here but in today's society we can clearly see it as a hoax. The moon landing is similar and NASA, eager to keep government funding has perpetuated the lie.
If it was a lie, Russia would have proven it so a loooong time ago. They did everything they could including studying the composition moon rocks, which was the final nail. NASA discovered that it was in fact a spaceship.
Part of the problem is/was moving to shuttles from rockets. If we went back, we'd want to do more than plant a flag and hit a golf ball. There are things NASA would like to do on the moon (like a sustained human presence), but the shuttles were incapable of breaking past low earth orbit while carrying the heavy equipment needed for such missions. NASA was developing new rockets for such missions, but for budgetary reason, the program was scrapped and unmanned missions to Mars were made more of a focus.
Off topic but I thought the news story about the US nuking the moon during the cold war was quite disturbing yet interesting.
This question again? It won't go away until we return to the Lunar surface, and return to one of the landing sites to fetch back to the Smithsonian one of the flags we left there, all broadcast live to Earth as it happens. Heck, even then we'll have lunatics... uh, I meant to say bewildered people, thinking it's all a hoax. Some folks are simply afraid of science, and things they just don't understand, in my opinion. I vividly recall watching the Moon Landing being reported by Walter Cronkite on CBS News. If it was a hoax, they fooled Cronkite and they fooled me.
