Sunday Oct 28. I don't know why they havent been advertising for it or at least putting the date out there more. Texans have a buy week that day. I don't remember the start time but I'm sure around 12-12:30 with Red Rowdy tryouts following the practice. I think there might also be some incentive to bring canned goods. I'll be sure to share more info as I get it. Looking forward to the rookie dance off.
1. Do they plan on having a real scrimmage like they did in RGV? 2. My money is on Lamb for the dance off.
Honestly, it kinda sucks, but it's still nice to see the players. It's a glorified all star game, cause all they do is run up and down the court throwing dunks.
It's great if you have young kids, I have 3 boys and they all have shot free throws at Compact and Toyota center. I remember the first time they were on the court shooting and Dream came out and walked by them, all 3 of them stopped and their jaws dropped and they just stared at him. One year my son was picked Rudy T and he sat on the Rockets bench with the players for a half. He was probably 10 or 11 at the time and he was sitting next to Yao. Those are things they won't forget, anyway it great for kids.
Don't waste your time people! I waited an hour last year to see two players at a time run up the court to dunk. Honestly, a little part of the Rockets fan inside me died that day.
I manage at the restaurant I work at. I've been to a few open practices, not really worth it imo. I don't mind going but I'd rather go to a game. It's nice to be that close to players though without having to pay.
