The Jazz dont just flop, they're dirty. San Anton has floppers, as does Cleveland, but they're not known to be similar to the Jazz. The Jazz play dirty, set illegal screens, and give you cheap shots. The flopping is only a small part of what makes the Jazz the Jazz.....We're not like them. I guarantee you that if we beat the Blazers, they wont hate us like we hate the Jazz.

Does the current incarnation of the Jazz deliver the "cheap shots", though? Maybe the old Malone - Stockton Jazz did it, but I don't really see that with the more recent version. They flop a lot, and they kicked our ass out of the playoffs 2 seasons in a row. That's really all you can put against them.

I meant to merely say that this version of the Jazz does not play defense, they just flop to get calls whereas the Rockets flop, but its not the focus of their defense. This, to me, makes the Jazz a cheap team.

Its simple. Everyone outside of Utah hates the Jazz so any team that is getting beat in the playoffs their fans will compare the opposing team to the Jazz.

Its like if you hate someone politically you compare them to Hitler or Stalin. The Jazz are the epitome of all that is evil in NBA basketball so to demonize your opponents you compare them to the Jazz.

I think they have some work to go to get to that level of Malone/Stockton/Hornacek. However the Jazz from 06-07 were a lot tougher and more gritty than the Jazz of 08-09. It could also be said that they disguise their cheap shots a bit better.

The first difference I can think of is, when the Jazz play a playoff game as they did in the past week, my friends and I get so bored we resort to a game--"find the non-white guy in the stands". Laker fans don't count. No one has won yet.

Root for the good guys sucka!

Yes Lowry is the Warrior of the 4th quarter. Everyone contributed but IMO noone more than the littliest warrior of all Lowry. Amazing I am big fan!

Malone/Stockton/Hornacek were the dirtiest team in the last 20 years.

The current Jazz are bad, too, but they have a different feel because their stars are ok (Boozer/Williams). But AK47 and Okur are two of the most annoying, cheating, players in the league.

We have guys who try to draw charges, but they don't go flying 10 feet when no one is around.

Deron Williams is ON the Jazz. But he is not A Jazz player. A Jazz player flops and holds and whines a bit more than the average NBA player, especially when tactics they use on other teams get used back on them.

Jazz type players include Karl Malone, Mehmet Okur, Andrei Flopalenko, etc...

    still man.

look if the rockets picked him up, well of course i'll accept it....unhappily.

but still man, it's not good to have players who kill us with their rival teams.

it's weird and awkward....what if you can't beat them...let them join?!?!

    no.

First up Battier flops more then Scola. Luis mainly just looks for contact and tries to get a call, although there are occasions he definitely does flop, but it isn't to the point where he can be compared to Kirelenko aka Skeletor.

Next, those are some weak and superficial comparisons. The only way the Rockets are more like the Jazz is the fact that they are now playing as a team, rather then trying to constantly dump the ball off to one or two players. Other then that, we don't have the personnel or run a similar enough offense that we can be called Jazz like. Neither Brooks or Lowry can be compared to Stockton or Williams and I won't go into who I think is better (SCOLA) but Scola certainly isn't the same type of player that Boozer and Malone try to be.

Pretty much the same thing but Rockets and Blazers inability to pass the first round has caused the media hype.

You definitely won't see the Spurs oriented media saying that if they get knocked out this year and that's most likely.
