I am so ****ing sorry I read this entire thing. What a stupid, stupid, stupid thread. Take off and nuke the entire thing from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
I said this 3 yrs ago. The rox and the stros want to win, but not at all cost. They want to compete, but not at the commitment level it takes to win. If they did, they would have traded Yao last year or they wouldnt have went so many years with just tracy and yao.
what a great thread, surprised there hasnt been any texans references. we got two teams that suck more or less. which one sucks less should be the question.
The more appropriate question now is whether or not the Astros are trying to become the Rockets?... I think yes, but in Baseball its a 3 to 5 year process to break down your roster and develop talented young players. You aren't going to be able to trade for a young player like Mike Trout at an early stage of their career like you could with Harden. Its going to take a few more years, but I really love what the Astros are building.
I don't think it will take that long. Competitive next year with a WC spot possible in 2015 and beyond.
The Rockets are the team in Houston in the lead to win a championship first. Sadly I think the Astros have a better opportunity to win a WS before the Texans win a SuperBowl. Please continue reading before I'm destroyed. The Texans have a window of 2 maybe 3 years to win a championship as the team is currently constructed, not to mention one injury in football could potentially ruin an entire teams season. The Astros meanwhile are up and coming and playing in a division in which the best team is always changing except for the Mariners. The Astros will be able to contend in the AL West in 3-4 years while the Texans are in rebuild mode unless TJ or Case shock the world.
