Just means we're relevant as a franchise. Enjoy it. As someone whose a Texan fan it's much better to be hated then to not be talked about barely at all. Texans Pre-Watt it was bad, it was like we weren't even in the NFL at times. Some announcers/commentators would call us the Titans, our highlights would be buried on sportscenter...it was bad. Rockets are one of the marquee franchises of the NBA. Have been for a while. People will either hate them or love them. They are a team that consistently goes to the playoffs and as a result will draw some strong reactions from others.
You're sure you're a Rockets fan? I mean, okay, obviously no blind homerism on your part. But damn. You come across as rabid and maniacal about Harden's turnovers. Explain this. Sure, he can drive you crazy when he goes full "too-much-ass, not-enough-sleep" mode with his passes. Probably because he's trying to do it all himself, having a YMCA pickup team wearing Rockets jerseys around him. Really. Couldn't have guessed. If you hate Harden, better find another team to follow, given that he isn't going anywhere for a long time. Might be better for your blood pressure.
Hey buddy... NYC hates the Rockets especially after the smacking Hakeem gave Ewing in 93-94. Go to Rockets loved places. If you are inbthe Brooklyn are come to Chilo's at 323 Franklin ave. I am the chef here and will gladly root for the Rockets with you.
There is also the only place to get kolaches that I've seen here in ny in this neighborhood. The things we take for granted when living in TX... So come to bedstuy. You'll feel right at home.
Harden is the best shooting guard in the league and it isn't close really A lot of people underestimate him but there are not that many players who put up his amount on numbers in the history of the game.........yes history of the game. You always see stat conversation that he is only the 1st or second player in the past 30-40 years to put up certain stat lines in a game. Wouldn't worry too much, New York fans hate their own players anyway
I know I'm just wasting my time but why not... Turnover leaders 2015/2016 Harden Westbrook Wall Rondo George 2014/2015 Harden Wall Westbrook Bledsoe James 2013/2014 Wall Curry Durant James Harden 2012/2013 Harden Holiday Bryant Durant Westbrook 2011/2012 Wall Durant Westbrook Nash D. Williams 2010/2011 Westbrook James Howard Rose Cousins 2009/2010 Nash Howard Durant Westbrook James Bunch of scrubs who were nowhere near the best at their position, amirite?
I made it very clear, both love and hate could make you blind on lots of thing. In no way that I think what he believed is rational, but just because he hated what you loved, it doesn't automatically make everything he said is poisoned. I always believed that actually most of the threads here are knee jerk reactions, that's what the internet for nowadays, those who knee jerked the most with love could actually be the one who will hate the same reality later. That happened many times before.
It's bizarre (his turnover problem) really. He is the most committed superstar 2 guard I've seen at getting his teammates scoring opportunities, but at the same time he just isn't disciplined with the ball the way a point guard is supposed to be.
Here in Holland amongst my basketball association, people actually think Harden is great and his step back in particular. Curry of course is #1.
Man I definitely will take you up on that offer I'll mention clutchfans! You know I think more than anything I'm legit shocked how people are so blinded by their hate for Harden that they refuse to recognize his greatness. Sure this season has been disappointing for the Rockets but Harden I feel like hasn't been the cause. If anything it's our team defense and coaching as a whole. Like others have said before, put ANY other shooting guard in place of Harden and we're a bottom dwelling team in the west, if not the league.
Lots of people hating on the Rockets on my campus too. I call them a hater and that usually shuts them up.
Honestly I don't understand where u coming from with your point here about NYC,or where do you live, all I know nobody in NYC give rats a** about there's team. All my friends and me included rooting for WC teams. Some of them liked trio in Miami, but rest i know go for West. Maybe its my age or what? Less likely they'll hate teams from West, because past 16 years there is only a LOOSER whoever play for them, or manage the team ,even Phill Jack. You guys want to see mediocrity come to NYCty. And you have no Idea what does it mean to live in the city with such a looser team. I am living example why Iam writing here. And I have a feeling all HC loves there's stars here too many celebrities to love, without basketball.P.S. Out of 5 people in nba shirt ,only 1 will be wearing Knickerbockers shirt. And hats owh well they are fake 3$ a peace on a street and the guy how wears it doesn't even know coach name of a team.Be calm nobody hate you here it's NYC !!! Come see it for yourself and if you have that Clutch City shirt, put that on and walk with pride concrete canyon. So as to your question are you loosing your minde ? Answer:YES!!!!
I live in NYC - and people don't hate James Harden or the Rockets. They just think Harden is over-rated mainly because his team is not very good. Ultimately, it's about winning. Every person here would love to have Harden on the nets or the knicks - no doubt about that. But they don't respect the Rockets, they don't respect Houston. And why should they when there is a team that has a guard leading their team to the best record in NBA history?
Actually it does not matter. What is better. Klay Thompson being a 2nd best SG winning championships or Harden being the best SG on a mediocre team? The ball is in Thompson's hand for now and probably for a few years.
We must be watching a different sport, a different game and different people if Klay is a better 2 than James. Klay is an incredible player and an amazing shooter, but he isn't nearly as talented and complete as James Harden. Period. There must be some epic hate built up here, huh? I'd also be disappointed if my favorite player was traded to another team, but it would not change the impact of a team's franchise player, who is arguably the best 2 guard in the league. Heck, if my favorite player were traded today, it still wouldn't change the fact that Steph Curry is, once again, the MVP of the NBA. James Harden is second in the LEAGUE in scoring. Somewhere, another Rocket, is recovering slowly from surgery and just missed a complimentary tour of 8 mile. I hope he heals up before the post-season, but if he doesn't, I'm pretty sure James Harden is going to be 2nd in scoring, with some pretty good assist and rebound numbers. Let's not allow bitterness to create errors in judgment.
