Man, this is such a r****ded series of takes I feel sorry for you. In an NBA that's down on superstar shooting guards, James Harden is unquestionably the leader of the pack. If he ever put together any semblance of an effort on the defensive end, like last year, he'd be so far ahead of the pack it wouldn't be funny. Yep, this year sucks. But you can't talk about this year and ignore the previous 3. You are so butt hurt over D-Mo, you are proving you aren't really even a Rockets fan at all. Really laughable stuff.
LeBron was hated for much less, why are you surprised everyone hates the unlikable Harden? Did you realize that unlike LeBron, Harden has no chance to mature as a person or win a title so he's going to be hated for ever and thus your favorite team - Rockets? It's ok, I get it, it hurts when your favorite player get disrespected and unloved, even though it's for a reason. That's why I cheer for DMo, can't hate the guy, though some here do.
I critisize Harden a lot in here to other Rockets fans, but that's because I want as best as possible for my team. Doesn't mean I hate him. He's not perfect that's for sure. Noone is. Doesn't mean he's not great though. He never was.
& I didn't know you knew Harden personally and can predict the future. What numbers should I enter for the next power ball.
I live in NY too, but I dont think the harden hate is a new york thing. Everyone has the opinion he doesnt try on the defensive end...and that lack of effort is what bothers people and feeds the "hate". Being the "best" SG is a relative term. So if you take the term literally you could compare him with other SGs and make an argument if youd like to, doesnt make you crazy. But, generally speaking, people aren't going to label someone with the title of the "best" if they only play one end of the floor. that's just the nature of some of these titles ("best", "Goat", "mvp", etc).
Rockets are losing of course you're gonna get that. Also do not underestimate the media's hatred for Dwight Howard. His association with us made us one of the most hated teams in the league since he came here. People forget how beloved Kobe is in a lot of areas.
Personally, I don't care if you are the best at your position if it doesn't translate to wins. This year, it hasn't...so far. I really hope it's changed since the break.
Paul George is not a true small forward because he's not small Anthony Davis is not a true pf because he's not powerful Rondo is not a true Point guard because he doesn't score points... Duh!
Harden isn't that likable. Everyone in the country is enamored with the Warriors. Doesn't seem that complicated to explain why the public might think that way to me. (An abridged list of a few people with more win shares than Klay Thompson this year: Tristan Thompson. Reggie Jackson. Jae Crowder. Danilo Gallinari. Demar Derozan. Karl-Anthony Towns. Klay's great for his role. He's not actually doing that much this year though.)
Why3 is still around? Damn, I was hoping he would leave after the Dmo trade situation. You're not crazy, OP. Rockets aren't too popular no matter what city you're in. Most likely due to Howard's presence (who to me seems like such an awesome guy), Harden's play style, and the media's opinions of the team and Morey. It doesn't matter to me if well informed or knowledgeable fans dislike the team or our players. Some people have their reasons, e.g., the team shoots lots of FTs and can sometimes be boring to watch. What grinds my gears is when uninformed "NBA fans" who haven't even watched the team lets the media develop their thoughts for them. To me that is just weak minded and lazy fandom.
Standing exactly opposite of him doesn't make you smarter also, it will just sound like more of the First Take show, of course if you are really enjoying it, that's a different story. Both love and hate could make you blind too.
That could be the worse example of using stats to support your argument ever. Its one thing to hate your rivalries or opponents (by the way, the GSW is not even a rivalry to the ROX at this point as they are miles better as a team), but its silly trying to find craps to drug yourself in order to believe some shlt that's so laughable from the reality.
Saying things like Harden "shows up for a game once in a blue moon" is objectively idiotic. If you are defending such a post, that is equally idiotic. It does not require "loving" Harden to understand that.
