That was 15 years ago - so no need to worry. If anything, those situations help you understand who you are a lot more than you ever thought you could. I think martial arts teaches you how to be more non-confrontational ironically. I took martial arts to learn how to better defend myself, and in the ensuing years, i have avoided quite a few fights simply by being calm and steady in tense situations. I don't think I would ever try to disarm someone with a gun unless i was very desperate and accepted the high-risk that I would be shot. If i was confronted with a knife, my first choice would be to run versus fighting.
