Thats an article from over a decade ago. Also, it doesn't really prove you point as Shasta pointed out...more likely to be motivated by insurance money.

CAIR got involved. And fortunately, there just aren't as many "hate crimes" as CAIR would like to see, for political gain.

It's quite simple: Islamists are willing to murder others for political gain. They are also willing to fake crimes against Muslims or to exaggerate them for political gain. It's all part of the jihad. See: Pallywood.

Yeah, CAIR is just another hypervigilant minority/under-served rights protection organization like the NAACP or LULAC. The fact of the matter is that they do a lot of good and I'd rather them be highly sensitive and visible than the alternative.

    ------------

Faust, I've had this discussion with my brothers and friends as to how the two groups respond to obvious deplorable acts against Muslims in the local, national and even international community. The fact of the matter is, I have never seen American Muslims have mass events that descend into crime and violence as is more common in France or the UK.

Are there individual fanatics? Of course, but they are simply not the norm and they don't seem to follow a local outspoken inflammatory Imam like that idiot in the UK.

I don't know if it is just that the Muslim community here doesn't tolerate it because they are generally more well-off or it is part of the American culture.
All I know is, I look over at some of the abhorrent behavior in Europe and can't blame them for their Islamophobia.

    Something needs to change.

i know what you mean. watching documentaries and visiting my dad who lives there, i got the feeling the european moslems weren't that rich or involved with the average community. the ones here are the richest group of americans and their all very smart and educated. i also dont think inflammatory imams are allowed in america while in europe they let them come in. how you can be someone's guest and then bad mouth them living there? im just glad you guys are a part of american society and contribute more than anyone else in medicine, technology, and gas stations.

Congratulations. A thread about a non-Muslim shooting three Muslims has turned into yet another thread blaming Muslims.

Tough to live in a world where a small, selfish "man" like Hicks can cut short the lives of people that wanted to / were making the world a better place. I guess all you can do now is be inspired their work and continue to move forward...

Thank you for posting this. Indeed, makes it even more terrible that a murderer senselessly took the life of someone so idealistically working towards a good cause. Very sad.
