If Whiteside can just block and rebound then he's worth a look. A brief look. However, Jordan Farmar is someone we might really need on this team if Lin falls through. JF as a backup at the right price is good, too.
Still, he's better than anyone we have at center now. Donatas is really a PF, but he will still need someone to back him up at C. If not Whiteside, how about Fesenko or Millicic. All could be acquired for cheap, which should tickle Morey's heartstrings.

You guys still wish Morey would have taken him over Patterson?? If the Rockets are looking for stop gap big men to give you minutes this year there are 40 other guys in the world(literally) who would be much better options. I wouldn't be surprised if Nenad Kristic comes back to the NBA with a little incentive. Milicic can give you 10 to 15 minutes a night and not trip over his own two feet. Hell, Diop would be a better option. If you want to take on a major project in Whiteside(still in his 3rd year) then there's your guy. The Rockets have enough projects right now to keep themselves busy enough. They need a big or two that can allow players like like Motiejunas, Jones, and Patterson to slide over to the 4 for a few minutes when they play teams like the Lakers, and Thunder with tons of size. Lets just hope they are able to get Asik if this whole Howard thing falls through.
