Comments from anyone who watched? I know someone was saying that he looked out-of-shape.

Biggest surprise from that stat line... only 4 fouls in 27 minutes. That at least shows some maturity in his game.

What do those numbers translate to in the NBA?

Didn't he average like 13pts, 13rebs, 3 blocks in the D-lg before? People always throwing sh%t on the guy cause he was drafted 2nd overall and they think he should be playing like Hakeem.

He could probably average close to a double-double and be one of the top shot blockers right now, if not the top, if he ever got like 30-33 minutes a game.

They don't. TWill averaged a triple double in the D-League.

It shows that he has the potential to be Jordan Hill.

He probably could get a triple-double right now too if given the minutes. Problem is, it would be a Ricky Davis type triple double; aka not something that makes us a better team. I bet Morey is not feeling optimistic about that deal right now.

If he got 30 mpg? He doesn't get 30 mpg cause his defense is bad, he can't play offense, and he can't rebound.

I pretty much agree, but Houston also wanted to take a long shot on a big guy who was pretty good in college and has good athleticism for being 7'3. Remember, they had other deals on the table for Battier.

Whoa...Antoine Walker is on the Idaho Stampede? That seems pretty crazy.

Vis a Vis Thabeet -- I know the Rockets wanted that pick and wanted to take a flier on a big kid that (supposedly) has potential, but I really hate the fact that he is going to be taking up around 6 million dollars of cap space as well as a roster spot next season. Those dollars and that roster spot could have been much better utilized.

My only thought is that Morey is banking on not having a season next year, so is thinking he can get the pick without ever really having to pay Thabeat.

Bad D? He can blocks like 3 shots, alters 10 more, and clogs the lane to keep players from getting to the basket. I wouldn't call that bad D. Maybe he doesn't move his feet like Hayes but being 7'3" he is gonna effect a lot of things on the defensive side regardless.

Thabeet basically needs to stop trying to be Hakeem on D, and more like Yao on D. Just clog the paint with that big frame and block anyone who comes his way. He also doesn't need to be a great rebounder. Just be a "space rebounder" and learn to box out and it's all good.

Yao on defense and Mutumbo on offense, basically. Not exactly the optimal combo, which would be the other way around, but IMO enough where he can start for many teams in the NBA.
