Yao is the slowest man in the nba today. That's why half of his shots get blocked. Even 325 lbs Oliver Miller was a quicker then him 2 days ago.

I don't think Yao has regressed, he just hasn't been playing well in the last few games. Fans tend to get emotionally caught with the up & downs from game to game. But if you step back, look objectively, Yao was doing just fine upon till the Blazers game on Dec. 9.

Yao's biggest problem (as I've always stated) is his stamina. I didn't know if there was a quick solution other than gradually buid it, but JVG over used him towards late part of November by playing him 40+ minutes in several games. At the time, I thought it worked since Yao was able to respond to it, played pretty well. Now that look like a failured approach because Yao obviously wore out.

We don't know what Yao will turn out to be eventually, but from 100+ NBA games he's played so far, we know that he will bounce back, give us 17/10 on most nights, which is good enough to get the Rockets into playoff this year.

Should we be satisfied with 17/10? Hell no! But we knew he was a PROJECT when drafted him, this is his 2nd season. Let's just wait for the PROJECT development.
