They probably think he will be better than the fading MDP even under the new rules. :D

wow i couldnt disagree more but i guess everyone can have their own opinion
lets see ben wallace cant be the best center because he cant score so there is no way that you can build a team around himTim Duncan is having a off year and doesnt play center, the same with howard,Amare played 1 game this whole season and is not a center, and shoudl T chandler M Ely and Fry's name be even on the list????? Comeon dude if your trying to prove a point then atleast back it up, dont just throw names out there.

I think that Yao isnt quite at his peak yet, look at Hakeem and Shaq neither won first ring until at least 8 yrs in the league and that was when they combined physical skills with complete knowledge of the NBA game into being best players or top 3....Yao must become more of a force on the defensive end...but that may be hard considering the rule changes now, Van Gundy Defense, and Yao's lack of lateral quickness due to his size. He must become a force on both sides of the floor, than he will be at his peak and will complete the triumvirate of Offensive force, Rebounding machine, and Defensive enforcer.....excuse the rhetorical hyperboles. :D

I hate to say but i am afraid that Yao will never get better numbers as he is getting now..
Why do i say that? you all have not forgot the rest he got this summer, have you?
Look at the schedule Yao has in the following 3 years. it is hard just to imagine someone will be able to survivor that...Yao's talent will be drained by CBA...F that

Yao is honored to play for Team China. You forget that the CBA really doesn't need to apply coercion to get Yao to play; Yao goes because he is honored to represent his country. If you watched The Year of the Yao, you'll see that he says so himself. And to me as a Chinese native living in the USA there's nothing better to see than someone honored to represent China, unlike the athletes who have to be pushed and prodded to play for the USA. Wang Zhi Zhi is even coming back.

Easy dude... i am not saying that Yao shouldn't play. I just meant all these events will cost him. And he will not be able to have enought rest (i believe it is very important for NBA players to have some rest during the summer).

If tmac agrees to take on the role of 2nd offense option, Yao would be more productive because of less double teaming.
