what a freak post! what game are you watching! he passes I think too much. He needs to commit earlier and make his move before the defense can fully set or while they are trying to set.

The dude passess 50% of the time he gets the ball there if my stats are correct.

I'm gonna make a post that says "Does Cuttino Mobley ever shoot anymore??" or "Has Stevie ever dribbled enough??"

You must have been watching the wrong Houston team...

Although, we only have one Chinese national playing in Houston...

Yao needs to shoot more in the paint, he is not dominating in the paint but instead settling for outside shots.

Sometimes I wonder if he is afraid to take over the game for fear of what his teammates might think.

Yao sometimes misses some point blank shots, sometimes i think to myself, How can someone at 7"5 miss layups?

All those games were Yao has shot 5 shots or less in a game, Yao was just being a ballhog. Jacking up those shots for 48 mins.

This might be the single most idiotic thread of all-time. And that is saying a lot.

After the guy who delivers the entry pass cuts to the basket, there's no one for Yao to pass the ball to. He has to either shoot, or make an ill-advised cross court pass.

Mobley doesn't pass enough for that ;).

Francis's #s would get better if people would hit open jump shots, but probably not so much as that. Most of the team, Steve gives jump shooters the ball in a situation where they have a "decent" shot. Even if we had good jump shooters, they're not gonna hit a significantly higher % of these types of shots. The difference between a mediocre shooter and a good shooter is a mere 5%.

When Yao passes out of double teams, he usually gives them the type of wide open shots that they have to make far more often than not. The type of shot that you get shooting alone in your drive way.

There's a real difference there. If we have a Steve Kerr, he almost always hits the pass Yao gives him out of the double. If we have good jump shooters... they knock down maybe 1 per game of what Steve gives them.

I actually crunched the #'s for this once. :). It amounts to something like .3 per game.

God........what true pure shooters can we get in the offseason? We need some....
There are plenty of reasons for our screwed up offense.
BUT ANOTHER REASON IS NO ONE IS ATTEMPTING TO GET OPEN. I mean......yeah. Yao Ming holds onto the ball......but everyone is just standing there watching. While Rudy is yelling for someone to cut.....and they finally do. But they don't do anything. Yao has to score.
Like when Francis is doing all his crap.....he gets stuck.....and there's no one to pass to. They're all too busy watching him doing his fancy crossovers and stuff.
WHAT HAPPENED? DIDN'T THEY SAY THEY WERE GOING TO TRY MOTION OFFENSE? .............................one moving object and 4 stones. At least we have good transition d. :(

Is it just me or do the Rockets never run an isolation offense?
