I am with you. This is too easy to believe for those gullible ones.
He might have a minor injury but no way is that keeping him out forever.

He asked management to take care of his minor injury for his future team and with limited playing time. That is all.

Area 51 is controlled by aliens! Obama is not a US citizen! The NSA uses mind control on US citizens! It all makes sense now!

Team was limited by what they could say about White.

I havent posted once in this thread...but....

You guys that refuse to entertain these "conspiracy theories" and just blindly go with what info your given are ten times more foolish.

    Just saying

I don't mind good minded fans. As long as guys responsible get this over with as soon as possible.

None of that matters in hindsight. We thank Asik for his single productive regular season and move on to greener pastures.

Well, there are "conspiracy" theorists (I guess I'm one) and there are "coincidence" theorists.

We have more than a few coincidence theorists here. Always believe what they're told.

You can craft a narrative of the truth from both sides here. Let's say Omer Asik had a vaginal infection. Then it started to spread. Became a thigh contusion. Got to his knee. Ahem...one of these: ;)

But for the sake of argument we'll say he had a minor tweak that he was dealing with.

    Now, let's remember back...

...to the summer, when his trade request was rebuffed by good-at-numbers, bad-with-humans Morey and good-with-humans, bad-at-numbers McHale. They should have heeded the clarion call, but, perhaps, they wanted that Dwight Injury Insurance and that Big Trade Piece Insurance?

The latter might just work out in the end, who knows?

    Now, let's remember back...

...to Omer pouting like a gigantic beeyo*** ("Hey, Omer, you ready to go?" "Omer does not feel like playing today, Omer says go away") maybe following some reeeeeeally bad agent advice ("hey, pout your way out of Dodge")

    Now, let's remember back...

...to the date of the Morey self-imposed deadline in December, when Omer was standing up on the bench, smiling big, waving to somebody (I'm not good at posting pictures, and I'm lazy anyway). Asik had the "I'm going to be traded" smile. But the trade didn't happen. The team left TC heading for a plane; Omer left TC walking in the opposite direction.

So no-play no-get-hurt Omer was so "hurt" that no team made a stink of his "injury"? No "we're not gonna trade for a guy who can't even play right now, I don't know what Morey's thinking"?

    Now, let's remember back...

...to all the people connected to the Rockets' organization who say yes, it's legitimate, why would he do all that rehab, why would everyone lie---Earl Warren, LBJ, the military industrial complex, why would they all lie?

They might twist the truth a bit knowing to what organization they owe their paycheck.

This is all some combination of image repair and keeping a bad attitude away from the team and maybe even already knowing who your trade partner is and not daring to damage the goods, or to let the goods get any further damage (given that all this probably did start with a small-to-midlevel injury that got blown up into something else as a good cover story).

Do I know all this? Of course not.

But do the coincidences pile up too neatly? Yep.

I would call McHale good with big humans but not good with guards (Lowry,Dragic, Lin, Beverley) or mediocre with guards

....and so if he is not not traded can we let this "conspiracy" die

Great post showing a time line of events infused with some humor. I will rep you when I get to my notebook. For some reason, I can't do it on my note 2.

I don't automatically dismiss a conspiracy theory. I look for facts and plausibility and ask myself: which is the more likely scenario? And 9 times out of 10, it's the simpler explanation as opposed to a more complex conspiracy theory.

I do discount conspiracy theories and I have to ask "Why has there not been a single leak from the Rockets organization on this matter?" The organization leaked Asik's trade demand soon after it was issued. You don't think that Asik "faking an injury" would be newsworthy?

one week to two weeks injury turned out to be 2 months and one week.
    Well documented.

Omer Asik's former agent leaked the news.

    Again, the gullibility.

    Aldridge:

Rockets finally get Omer Asik (thigh) back on the court Saturday, with trade gab about the unhappy center sure to start kicking up again this week. Still think he would make the most sense either in New Orleans, which needs a cop to protect Anthony Davis with Jason Smith out for the season, or Milwaukee, where the rebuilding Bucks need size desperately.

Just because we refuse to entertain them, doesn't mean we don't think they are plausible or even possible. However, we have NOTHING but PURE SPECULATION to go by. So why bother even discussing our thoughts? We can't back them up. All we can do is offer our observations and "conspiracy theories."

I refuse to ASSUME a player is purposefully harming our team just because he isn't out on the floor and we don't like the injury he's blaming it on. Pathetic fans think they know what is best for players. Disgusts me. If a player is injured (and Asik may or not have been), than he deserves as much time as necessary to get better. He doesn't owe it to me, the owners, his team, he owes no one anything. You don't own him. He isn't a slave of the Houston Rockets. He has to protect himself and his future, and if he has an injury that he is worried about, he should rest it.

So until we have ANYTHING outside of speculation, I won't entertain such ridiculous theories.

Especially considering the organization (albeit under different ownership I believe) had no issue accusing Hakeem THE DREAM of faking an injury, and people think they wouldn't accuse Asik?!

Those teams are both kinda cash-poor to take on Omer's balloon payment, but on the other hand, what I thought would be a good matching of Turks on the same team might get testy after Ilyasova's recent mouthing-off to the press about Omer (albeit in Turkish). So their reunion might go like this:

Omer: (grabs Ersan by neck) What did you say about me?! You say that I am big girl?

Ersan: It's true, you are big sissy!

Omer: Your mother was Gypsy! Your sister is w****! Turkish National Team was your father!

    Highly doubt this happens:

    Sam Smith:

Carl Landry: Perhaps the one team you can see taking on Asik’s $15 million payment for next season is the Kings, whose owner has been spending freely. Many believe DeMarcus Cousins would benefit playing with a blue collar rebounder like LaMarcus Aldridge has with Robin Lopez in Portland. Maybe Houston would bring back an old fan favorite in Carl Landry, now back from injury, with a long deal and now less needed with the Kings.

    Also from Sam:

Wonder if the Rockets wish they hadn’t let Dragic go as a free agent in the summer of 2012. Dragic wanted to stay, but the Rockets in their pursuit of Jeremy Lin wouldn’t guarantee Dragic would be a starter
