Wow, the level of discourse around here has reached an all time high. You guys wanna step outside and settle this, once and for all?
No he's trying to trade the future for a 1 yr rental and banking on a guy who stated he doesn't want to play here
Frankly, if there was a way for the Magic and Howard to repair their relationship, the smart move WOULD be to keep him. But it looks like it isn't, and so they need to move on. That's the difference between us and Orlando.
Dude ur really annoying..everyone knows Dwight doesn't want to be here...If he wanted to be here don't you think the Rockets would have been on his wishlist...Stop making fantasies in your head
no offense but have you also been doing cocaine? lets go point by point Lets Dragic go despite by all indications wanting him back next season, all over a 4th year player option. I hated to see dragic go and this prob the most accurate point but he said rockets dont like giving player options and they stuck to the policy [*]Then proceeds to offer Jeremy Lin a big deal, when he has a better PG that won't be overpaid on the roster already (Lowry). lowry hates the coach, wanted to be traded and I am pretty sure was a cancer when he came back from his injury. He had a contract that teams wanted and morey needed that pick more than he felt he needed lowry [*]Trades Lowry for a protected as hell 1st round pick in the future, likely to be 8-14 and that's only if the Raptors don't make the Playoffs which is a possiblity raptors making the playoffs would have ot be a possibility for the next 5 years. define protected as hell? it is protected from being a top 3, how can you just assume that it will be 8? [*]Won't have a PG on the roster because Lin will likely stay in NY how many more wins would the current team get with lowry or dragic being a pg vs someone they pick up (be it duhan in the trade or someone else?) do you really want to continue being the 14th seed with players that will guarentee that.. morey is going all in and if he doesnt get who he wants we will have 2 picks in the top 10 next year [*]Offers Asik a huge deal, yet never relinquishes his pursuit of D12, wtf is going to happen if Bulls don't match and we have both D12 and Asik on the roster? I may be wrong on this but i think the rockets have agreed to a deal and have not actually signed him to that offer sheet yet.... maybe they wait to see what happens with dwight or maybe they want to have two good centers incase dwight gets hurt or leaves [*]Drafts TWO more PFs in the Draft, oh, and he failed to even trade up for Drummond all reports indicate that he wanted to move up but teams were not wanting to trade bc the players they wanted fell to them and that all started with jordan taking kid-gilcrest with the number 2 pick. Had robinson gone 2 then I think rockets would have had a trade in place. I also dont think white is a pf so to me jones was the only pf they got as one of their first round picks.. [*]Is fixated on Dwight Howard, despite Dwight saying he won't re-sign in Houston. dwight said he would not resign with neone other than nets (and please get this point bc all you haters refuse to understand this point) the nets no longer have the cap space to get him, meaning he is not going to go run to the nets and sign with them next year. And since we will have his bird rights, we will have a better chance of getting him. WHY ON EARTH do you think he wanted to be traded to the nets THIS year, dont you think he could have just played it out in orlando and gone their next year. He wanted them to have bird rights, yes one extra year and about 25 million dollar more (basically what dwill got) does matter [*]Is so fixated that he amnesties Scola, despite not even having a D12 deal imminent. again he has not yet amnestied scola, woj said he is going to .. how do you know he wont have a deal in place before doing that .. furthermore going with the thinking of him not getting dwight, how do you know that he doesnt just want to get out of scolas contract since he wont really mean the diff between a pretender or a contender. This way even if we dont get howard our young pfs (dmo and patterson in particular) will have a chance to show what they can do and we will have a lot more cap space next offseason when teams like miami, LA, ny cannot make a play for big name agents due to salary cap restrictions
Yes Murray has gone of the deep end ,and I love it . No more 14th pick we either win big or go home. Dwight or Bynum one of them will be wearing a Rockets jersey at the allstar game in Houston
If he wanted to play in houston, why doesn't he sign an extension BEFORE the trade. Say bird rights and I'll say apparently that doesn't matter when it comes to brooklyn. So he dwight is all in at a lesser amount than bird with the nets, what makes you think anything will matter to him come free agency.
Even though you're probably being completely sarcastic this is exactly right. And of course everyone just naturally being the humans they are fear what they don't understand. Feable minds.
It's not asking if he wanted to play. It's asking if he doesn't want to play. And even then, so what? Deron wasn't exactly overjoyed to learn he had been sent to New Jersey. Chris Webber was pissed when he went to a cruddy team in Sacramento. And the bird rights didn't matter for Howard because that was his main destination. But now that they're no longer a threat, they do factor. Bird rights wouldn't make the difference between us and Brooklyn. They can make the difference between us and Dallas.
Breaking news. Usually half the players in ANY trade doesn't want to be in his new city. Did Steve Francis want to be in Orlando? Did Chris Webber or Divac want to be in Sacramento? Heck, did Carl Landry want to go to Sacramento? Nope. None of them did. If players had their wishes, most NBA trades would never happen. The only difference between Dwight Howard and everyone else is that IF Dwight Howard actually hates Houston enough to sign a crappy city elsewhere(he no longer has LA/NY as his FA options), then the Rockets lose a top-5 bonafide NBA superstar. But if Dwight Howard cares about money as much as 99% of his fellow NBA plyaer, then whether he wants to be here or not is irrelevant. He'll want to make more money, and he'd be able to do it here. The only issue is whether he'll spite himself to piss off the Rockets and Houston. Which is admittedly a possibility but harldy a certainty.
