    Because Beasley wouldn't tap himself.

both have been busted and ridiculed for their use of pot early in careers.

Beasley is a stud, that could have been had for cheap by Daryl Morey.

Al Jefferson could have also been had for cheap to nothing.

    Aaron Brooks
    Kevin Martin
    Michael Beasley
    Luis Scola
    Al Jefferson

Would have been wayyyy to much fun...

    Wrong.
Miami was trying to dump Beasley for cap room to support the Superfriends. So they were negotiating with the teams that had the cap room to absorb Beasley's contract, like Minnesota and not us.

Not to mention this board's fascination with Jefferson still continues to baffle me.

Most GMs knew he had potential, but perhaps they know about things that we don't?

    A 3-team deal...

Al Jefferson and Michael Beasley gives this team what it desperately needs, Something more than mediocre, overachievers... (As much as I love our overachievers)

    ......Really now?

I think this is really a waste of time, as the Beasley deal as it was provided something both teams, meaning that we had no real chance to jump in. Regardless, I'll play this game.

I would assume that a three-team deal with the three teams would be Miami gets cap friends, we get Beasley, and Minny gets....... something. Really, for Minny not to say "Screw you, we'll just grab Beasley ourselves", we'd have to give Minny something really, really good. Which would probably mean overpaying things for Beasley. There is no reasonable way we could jump on this trade without giving up way too much for Beasley, as Minnesota has no reason to give up on Beasley themselves unless they got an offer they simply couldn't refuse.

Furthermore, there is and never was any reason whatsoever to get Jefferson, and I have always said it. The dude is simply not capable of playing with Yao. At all. So either we 1. Have a bunch of guys who don't really fit in together on the front court or 2. completely give up on Yao. And there was no freaking way after wasting an entire year waiting for him, that we would give up on him NOW, and the big dude would be coming back here for one more year regardless, which still means things are screwed up.

Beasley has a nice stroke and good range, his issue has always been effort and ethic, as long as he improves that, he's too good a shooter to not develop into a 20ppg+ player.

Well that explains your love for TMac. It's a stupid philosophy to not judge young players out the box. Young players whose head is messed up when they have all the talent to be the best usually become washed up old players whose career never was what it could have been.(See TMac) Beasley is a talent who has wasted 2 years already and still doesn't play defense. As A3PO said he is the perfect fit for a bad team just like TMac was for Orlando. But in the end the game is about wanting to win not wanting to be the star of a bad team.

I can agree with that but it's not like they're the only ones doing it, they just got caught.

He wouldn't have gotten any PT. PP doesn't have any mental issues and he's glued to the bench/assigned to the d league. Beasley would have been in the same boat. Anyway I don't like Beasley at all. All he does is score and nothing else. He reminds me a lot of Eddy Curry before he went to the Knicks.

Stromile, Curry, Kwame, Darko, and Morrison all disagree.

When you play with DWade and his ball dominating ways, it is not going to be great for young up and coming players.

Beasley always had loads of talent, just not the right attitude or situation, sometimes players have to go elsewhere to flourish.

    Good for him.

They give him the ball in Minny. Beasley in ISO is dangerous. Beasley as a third option on the Heat is non-effective.
