knee jerk flavor of the month reaction....Kobe is still ahead of Lebron, by miles. Kobe has a relentless hunger about him. Let's see if Lebron has that same mentality in the coming few years. Congrats tho to him and the Heat.

Lebron one of four players to led the league in PER 4+ years in a row: Jordan, Wilt, Shaquille. He definitely has surpassed Kobe and is in the conversation for 2nd greatest.

Hunger has 0% effect on actual production. It doesn't matter if Kobe has 10x more hunger than LBJ, LBJ's outproduced him anyway. As for those saying its too early, fact is LBJ's been doing this every year the past 4 years, people just don't recognize it because they leap on the "no ring, no recognition" bandwagon.

It is funny because Lebron spent most of his time posting up in the finals. He played like a PF; compare him to one.

First of all, congrats to Shane Battier for winning his ring. Second of all, LBJ is definitely a great player but has at least 5 more rings to go to say he surpassed Kobe.

You are insane if you have Dr. J ahead of LBJ.

No disrespect to LBJ but Kobe has accomplished so much more to this point.

Lets see how the careers shake out.

LBJ is certainly has more talent than Kobe, but he isn't the better player at this point.

If he can string together a few more of these kind of performances I think he will be better in the future.

Do you think Wilt or Shaq are in the conversation for 2nd greatest? I don't. At all.

Honestly would you rather have a 21 year old Kobe or LeBron?

    For me its LeBron EASILYYY

He's bigger, faster, more athletic, and a better defender

Imagine LeBron with a prime Yao

And in the end, Kobe will have more rings and the bigger legacy.

Hard to compare both at the age of 21. Kobe was playing with future hall of famers then, LBJ was playing with scrubs.

Lebron is only halfway through his career.

When he's done, he'll have 5-6 MVPs, 1-2 DPOYs, at least 3 rings. He'll just be looking up at MJ barring any injuries.

The weight of winning a championship is finally off. He's playing with less pressure from now on. Sure, there will still be pressure of repeating and winning more rings, but nothing like what he has faced up till now. You're going to see a much more dominant Lebron starting next year. The only thing stopping this Heat team is if Wade is actually declining, and declining a lot.

He will never surpass Jordan b/c Jordan accomplished so much more individually, AND team-wise than Lebron ever did.

compare LeBron at 27 to MJ at 27, and Lebron is way ahead( sans the DPOY)

    Its closer than you think

LeBron is a better rebounder, athletism( virtual tie), passing instincts go to LeBron, both sucked at 3's. LeBron is a better defender

I mean i dont know how you can say MJ is miles ahead of Lebron

Oh and if LeBron wanted to selfishly go after scoring titles( with how effiecent he is).. he could do it
