Personally bring in CPepp as the savior is not something I would be interested in. Bringing him in to compete for the job at a low cost might interest me but to say he would be a target of mine would not be the case. I'd rather have Jeff Garcia for a year or two.
Absolutely. Look, there's gonna be pressure. I'll readily admit Carr has taken more than his fair share. But Carr exacerbates the problem. His pocket presence sucks and he absolutely refuses to protect the football. I said it before...the fumble on the sack that caused the Oakland TD last week was all on Carr. He had 6 seconds in the pocket. He didn't throw. Instead he started running, holding the ball out from his body. The guy slapped it away, Oakland picked up the ball and ran it in for a TD. Counted as a sack, I believe. Not the OL's fault. We talk about the game being really fast and "slowing down" for QB's over time. After 5 years, it never has for DC. John McLain says the Texans contend that last season, 1/3 of the sacks DC took were attributed directly to him. No one is saying the OL is good. But it's not the only part of the problem. And the argument that no one else could do better is just false and tired.

My prediction/hope for next year? Sage is the starting QB next year with Kolb on the sideline holding a clipboard waiting for his turn. It would be nice if Kolb would fall to us in the 2nd round.....and we actually picked him.
Before this season, I was pro-Carr. I wanted to see what he would do with Kubiak. So far, he hasn't done enough. Some quotes from the Chronicle this morning (apologies if someone posted already): "We didn't protect well at all," coach Gary Kubiak said Monday. "I think with us not protecting well in some early phases of the game, maybe David lost a little confidence in what we were doing up front. "When we did protect well, maybe (he'd) get a little antsy and not go through his reads. Those two things together don't mix. The key is that it's got to go away. It rears its ugly head, but you've got to fix it and go back and play" "These last four are big for David," Kubiak said. "They're important to everybody's future and the direction we're headed."
If this is true... BREAK THE BANK to pick this guy up. He's a Romo/Rivers waiting to happen (by that I mean a guy that's sat on the bench more than a season, learning about reading defenses, etc. I'm not trying to imply their talents are similar). I think if you want a winning record next year, or maybe even get to TALK about the playoffs, Schaub is the guy you have to get. Granted, you also need a draft on par with last years and some good FA's (like Anthony Weaver).
That sounds good to me, becuase we all know he will do poorly. Hopefully this is the end of the line for Carr.
If the Texans want to win immediately next season they need to do whatever it takes to land Matt Schaub.
Why are people on Matt Schaub nuts for?? What the hell has he ever done in the league or in college??? He's been sitting for a few yrs so he is automatically Tony Romo. Guys like Romo are rare occurences. On a side note, it was like Bill Parcells knew something everybody else didn't know about Romo.
He's very highly thought of around the league. Many people in Atlanta prefer him to Vick - he just hasn't gotten a chance because of the starter.
I'm sure he layed a stinker against them. He'll be alot better in his third year, hopefully. You can't be a true Horn fan if you openly criticize Vince. Don't get it. IMO, the Titans are one of the least talented teams in the league.
You can be a t-shirt fan though. If I had a gun to my head and someone demanded I pledge my loyalty to the Texans or the Longhorns, I pick the Texans. Of course, they play in completely different leagues, so your quote is just dumb.
No need to get personal. My favorite team is the Cowboys, but I still root for Huff and those guys. I don't see how you can root against Vince.
gr8-1, its called HATERADE. hating on a local kid who wowed this city as a high schooler, then wowed the state and the nation. now wowing the pros. hating that he's ALREADY beat them. now he's back to beat them in HIS TOWN. Vince Young was born 1983, the Texans were born in 2002. Who represents Houston? an EXPANSION TEAM who was bought by a billionaire? or a kid who played in the streets of Hiram Clarke, Madison High School? your choice Houstonians on who to root for. But don't hate on your own son.
why didn't they just cut him before the season and take the cap hit this season instead of next? This is an evaluation year etc...
LOL- Steve Young is a great example of why you take Vince Young.... Mobility is the X-factor as a QB...most QBs are not that mobile to get a GREAT one at that position is a big plus. David Carr.....is not Vince Young. DD
