he's not gonna set a magic passing yardage number out there to make his decision. throw for 250 and the job is yours!!!! not gonna happen.
That's great. We're 12 games into both of their careers. Way too soon to make an accurate assumption on which one will have a better career.
I am just throwing a number out there that will help the Kubster make a decision, is all, MadMax. I know he's been digging himself into a hole with the last few performances...
stats aren't gonna save his job. he needs to make plays. he needs to be a difference-maker at some point. otherwise he's like umpteen other QB's out there whom we could pay a lot less.
How about Ryan Leaf? Seriously, if Carr would take a 50% pay cut, would you keep him around for another year to groom Kolb, or some other 2nd or 3rd round pick?
And we're 12 games into those careers. Both have played very well. You cannot say for any certainty right now that VY will have a better career than Williams, Bush, Leinart, etc. You just can't. Right now, as a Texans fan, we can be happy that at the very least, Mario looks like he has the potential to be a dominant pass rusher. Since VY is not a Texan, I'm at least happy about that.
So when can we start the 'trade david carr" threads. I for one think we can snag a player deemed bust on another team. What say ye to a Carr for C. Benson or Carr for Sean Taylor??? Forget about picks, the only value Carr has is someone who is either a miscreant or riding the pine.
interesting point. they talked about this on the radio this morning. do you think dave would do that??? take less money to stay in a bad situation?? i think he'll be begging to get out before he ever agrees to take less money here.
i don't think the guy extrapolated out over his career, anyway, right?? he just said one guy has made a huge impression. my assumption is VY is the belle of the ball. that was my assumption before the draft and it's only bolstered by the past 12 games. that's not taking anything away from mario williams. i think he'll be just fine. i wouldn't use the first pick on him...but he's certainly not a bust. i think he could be very, very good.
I think you are right, and I don't think the Texans know just how ugly it could get for them on Sunday. I see a situation on any single mistake by Carr he's going to get booed, and I'm not taking about just interceptions or fumbles, but also incompletions. VY will get cheered, and if the Texans have a terrible game I could see the majority of the crowd switching over and cheering the Titans on to victory. It could be an all out mutiny by the fans.
A conditional 4th round pick!!!!!!!!!!!! Kubiak, what in the world are you waiting for????? Oh yeah for Sage to get back. Can't wait for Sage to get back and start. But we need to somehow get a young QB to develop this is going to be a long rebuild. (BTW Texans- We forgive you for not drafting VY if you get rid of Carr)
depends on what happens sunday, but yeah, if he and the team fall flat again, i would tend to agree. unfortunately, that means starting completely over. again. third time in five years.... and i don't see a viable alternative on the horizon...
