I'll give you that the second foul seemed pretty legit. First call was probably the correct call as well, and would likely be called that way most of the time (but certainly not always). That third foul, though (which was arguably the biggest in terms of harming AD's ability to play and get in a rhythm) was highly questionable, at best. Olynyk stepped in front of him, didn't give him space, and then flopped. Davis may have lowered the shoulder a bit, but I do not at all agree with that call... I remember even the commentators didn't agree with it (not that they're great judges, but still).
Yeah, the 3rd call is somewhat tricky, but Olynyk got to the space first, was able to stay square, and AD lowered his shoulder into Olynyk's chest. It was definitely a flop, but it was also a legitimate foul on AD. He's not entitled to Olynyk's space.
The score at halftime was 54-58. AD picked up his 4th foul when the score was 54-61 with 10:22 left in the 3rd quarter. -He played the entire 3rd quarter and played very well. -He played all but 2:18 seconds of the 4th quarter. -He scored 10 points in the 3rd quarter. -He only attempted 1 FG in the 4th quarter. -He didn’t score in the 4th quarter. He didn’t pick up any fouls after the 4th one and he played basically the entire second half anyways.
Jimmy G. Buckets you’re the ****ing man! Sorry people associate a gutless bum like Harden with you. Put some respekt on Jimmy’s name.
Loved seeing Butler find that next gear at the end of the game when everyone was gassed, but he had a bunch of horrific plays as well and wasn't defended like Harden in any way shape or form. I like Butler a lot, but comparing two players with completely different supporting casts, coaches, and defensive schemes employed against them continues to make no sense to me.
It kinda sucks that we cant just appreciate the dude's performance while clowns on here try to associate him with Harden. All the numbers state that Harden is better. Harden beat his team in 5 games and has had much more playoff success in a harder conference and people STILL want to disrespect the man.
Harden's the better player BY FAR for the first 45 minutes of the game. In the clutch though Butler just has that special something that Harden lacks. I love Harden and I wanted him to dominate in the clutch so badly so many times even just in these playoffs but he just becomes so passive it hurts. That duel between Jimmy and LeBron today was epic and one of the best I've ever seen.
So? None of that matters. Everyone knows he’s an incredible scorer in the regular season. It’s been established. People want to see him play big time in the playoffs. Tonight is another perfect example. Harden can score 35 points in a playoff game but it’s usually a very quiet 35 and his actual impact on the game is minimal in comparison to Jimmy G dropping 35.
Butlers is gonna go until the whistle blows regardless of team. James will always be a better player and a much greater talent, but mentally you can see games where he essentially gives up.

It was an interesting 4Q for Butler. Some terrible plays, then those amazing midrange baskets. I need to see a replay of the last drive when he got free throws, it was insane how open the lane was. Gotta see how that came about.
Thanks for posting this. The special something that you speak of has been what I’ve been saying all along in earlier posts. The “dog”, the “killer instinct” is what Butler has been showing in the clutch. Folks on here want to call it Harden “hate” it’s just the ugly truth. Harden down 3-1, in the finals, with everything on the line, would have been sent home packing tonight
Funny thing: The True Different between Jimmy Butler and James Harden Jimmy's last drive to the basket and getting fouled Commentators and new found Jimmy Stans: That 's old school basketball . . . .. don't let the defense off the hook!! James Harden does the same thing and it is all: You cannot look for the Refs to bail you out this late in the game!!! Rocket River
So? He went home in 5. His stats against the Lakers looked pretty good at the end but they’re misleading. He didn’t even put up a fight after game 1. No passion, no heart, no fight. Jimmy Butler’s run this post season is nothing short of remarkable. It’s not fair to him to put Harden on his level. Replace Harden on that Miami team in place of Jimmy and he’s ISO’s himself out in 5 or 6 games against the Bucks.
