Re: Ming. Doc Rocket said unequivocably that we were taking him #1 BEFORE CD or RT said anything publicly and against the grain of the prevailing wisdom on the site. Yes, we were all aware of the Rockets' need for a big man, but still everyone in the media and on this site gave the pick a good chance to be traded. Doc said we were serious about Ming and wasn't even cryptic (for the first time?) and he was right.

My main point here is how can you trust Clutch on every single thing EXCEPT the fact that he trusts oeilpere and Doc Rocket?

And yes, you're right, a lot of the stuff the insiders post doesn't come through. As has been said a trillion times, most talks fall through. These guys almost never say this stuff will definitely come true, just that it's definitely being discussed. Clutch believes them, heypartner believes them and I believe them.

By the way, I like your handle. I myself have a permanent hangover. I keep drinking, but it never goes away...

 

there is still a good chance the pick will be traded by the way...

it would be stupid for us to not talk to ming and at least pretend to be interested and then going ahead and being safe and choosing ming would be no wild event...

it is my understanding that:
we have the first pick

ming is the top prospect at center

we need a center

no matter what team chooses ming will have a unique negotiation with ming and chinese govt

would it not make sense to go to china and talk??

if we do pick ming it would be based on the understanding I mention above

I trust clutch to cross validate and he has no need to brag

those that do predict here then return for the 'yeah thanks for posting I am great because i am' posts are bragging and thats sad

if they didnt have such egos like they do i would appreciate their posts and be thankful they do post if indeed it was not the obvious..

Doc Rocket, Oeilipere, and Clutch are "the BBS" that keep us coming back.

Sure, no deal is complete unless everyone has signed. So, a lot of what they say may not materialize, but we get to toil with what Rudy and CD are thinking at the time.

And best of all we have fun with stuff that has some direction. It's not something that is being pulled out of a hat.

is it not compromising the negotiation power of the rockets and their ability to leverage competition if he is leaking info..?

why not release it only to you..? then you can release it as needed and you always gives credit for the scoop anyway..

what motive other then self promotion would it be to release tips or is he just being a great guy to us on this bbs? what is it?

i understand your desire to have scoops and keep the info fresh to promote the website... but isnt that an info leak we are not necessarily afforded by other teams?? cant it be done in a manner that promotes/proves this website to be great without negative repercussions?

isnt this in effect hurting our beloved rockets??
