Has anyone noticed how cheap the Rockets game entertainment is?

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Tundra Dancers appearance at the Lakers game...or maybe they are just still in shock like I am.

They came out dressed as "the Laker Girls" dance team.

I saw more ass crack than I've ever seen in my life or ever want to see again. It was disgusting, yet disturbingly funny. There were moments when I thought I was going to see a wardrobe malfunction of the WORST kind. You had to see it to believe it.

Anyone got pics they want to share?

I haven't downloaded the clip yet (at work), but now I don't know if I should - yet I want to see the highlights. Dammit R2K, why'd you have to go and do that? :D :p

BTW, did anyone else think that it was ridiculous that the Rockets were throwing frisbees WITH MONEY ATTACHED TO THEM to the people in the club section?

WTF? These people can afford 100 dollar seats - they don't need the 20's. And don't give me this crap about how the Rockets couldn't throw frisbees from the upper deck - they could have.

Hey Rockets, try rewarding the people who go sit in the horrible ass upper deck sometimes b/c they love to see you...

lol - I meant if I should ever watch it - I can't download it here at work or the network gestapo will come after me.

Seriously though - thanks for all the clips, they are excellent.

    aaah...gotcha! ;)

look at it this way...it is only a couple of seconds...and the cam is behind the Powerdancers...so it isnt like there isnt something in-frame to hold your attention.....combine that with what the refs are saying about them more than makes up for the minor inconvienance of seeing a buncha tubby guys in Lakergirl gear...

They have veggie burgers and veggie stir fry now?!?! Where the hell is that? I've always been annoyed how I never had a vegetarian option at Rockets games despite the fact that apparently Les Alexander himself is a vegetarian and the dancers always wore those "All animals have rights" shirts. Also, are these options vegetarian or vegan? I'm a vegan.

P.S. Are you a vegetarian, Jeff? I would have thought that myself and the one guy with the word 'vegan' in his name were the only ones. Ha! You just don't often associate sports fans with the vegetarian diet I suppose.

I went to the ROckets vs Lakers game this weekend and the entertaintment was incredible. I took some family friends with me that just moved from LA and they loved the experience. I was laughing throughout all the entertainment. I think they are doing a much better job than previous years.

I actually think some of the skits are pretty funny. The sumo guys were great this weekend ....and the Laker girls had me hysterical.

When more people start showing up to games, perhaps the entertainment will get better in some of your eyes.

I go to pretty much every other game and I don't have any problem with the entertainment.

The sumo wrestling is always great. Did you see the hit Clutch put on the one dude? He flipped in the air and landed on his head. I held my breath for a moment, but he was ok.

The Entertainment at the Lakers game was the best so far. But this is the only game where the entertainment was really good. I guess b/c it was super bowl sunday and it was on ABC. The other 5-6 games I have been too have been pretty plain.

I thought it was pretty hilarious how they threw frisbies with money taped to them ONLY to those in the lower bowl. Aren't those the ones with lots of $ as it is? How bout giving some $ to us poorer fans in the upper nose bleed rows? Anyways, just thought that was kinda funny. Peace.

Here's the real answer about the entertainment during the game and halftime. My brother used to run this! He and his boss won awards from the NBA on their production value and entertainment. Les Alexander didn't care diddly poop! He paid them like they were serving burgers at McD! So, my brother, his boss, and another person in the marketing department all left after last season. In fact, my brother was thinking about staying on since he would be inline for a promotion. He got passed over for the position. Instead, a temp worker, who was under him, who was absolutely clueless, got the job. Rather than having to clean up this new guys stinking mess all the time, he decided to move on. He is now working at the state bar and lounge making more money than when he was with the Rockets. Pretty sad state of affairs, if you ask me. Penny wise and pound foolish by Les. The Rockets were desparate after they all resigned and asked my brother to do contract work for a while and he got to name his price. The only problem is that he didn't get paid until about six or seven months after the contract was up. A first class organization wouldn't do that, but I guess when you're paying millions to athletes, you can't pay over $20,000 a year to anyone in your own marketing department that was recognized as tops in the NBA.
    Oh, well, c'est la vie.

I agree with you on the food aspect, as Compaq rocked...Whataburger & Pappas, nuff said...

The entertainment does blow, as you expect to be entertained, not only from the basketball game, but from the intermission as well, or at least I expect that...

Although, when i went to an Aeros game at TC, I had the best BBQ sandwich ever...

i think Clutch is probably the best mascot in the league, hands down. he's freakin hilarious. the little pelvic thrust thing he does is kind of disturbing at times, but all the other little things he does keeps me entertained when the game slows down, or during timeouts, etc. Van Chan will agree to that.

half time shows are usually lame in all nba games, i'm sure.
