Back in college in FL, we used to pick them, then eat them in the field. I can honestly say, that after several conversations with cattle, I understand their plight. While its fun talking about the old days, drugs are still bad, umkay. I don't condone use anymore, but there is no way to stop people on missions. If you are gonna eat schrooms, make sure they are the right ones. They have a purple ring around the stem, about 1 inch below the circular top. Make sure to look for the purple ring, not white. Wash them real well as they sprout from poop. 2-4 should do the trick. Anymore will make you sick and is dangerous. I don't want any Rockets fans getting sick. ------------------ "Chucky who? I agree, Colby. These stories I relate all happened B.C. (before children). Being a parent naturally causes you to grow up and act responsibly, or at least it should. But the good ol' days are fun to remineise (sp?) about! ------------------ It looks like a veteran can Be had.
A number of times, but the worse was when I wrecked my car. I really don't care to go into details here, but suffice to say that I went from completely frying to perfectly sober instantly....till the officer left the scene and I walked home. That was the trippiest walk I have ever had! One last story (Lord knows what y'all think of me already!) I was a night stocker for a grocery store many, many years ago. One night I did a couple of hits of blotter and went to work. I was working the caned goods aisle, trying to stock cans of tomato paste. Holy crap, all those freaking cans look exactly alike! I was holding a red can, looking at a wall of red cans, wondering where the hell this one belonged. My boss was watching me (he was cool) and started laughing so hard at me that we both had just stop and sit on some merchandise for a good thirty minutes before I could continue! ------------------ It looks like a veteran can Be had.
One time I listened to the song "Alley Cat" for about 3 days straight. Not just sitting there, but on my computer I had it running on a loop, and I was listening to the song for about 20 hours out of the day (while asleep and awake). By about the third day, I thought I was seeing my dog out of the corner of my vision, but he was never there. Things started moving around in my periphery vision, so I turned the music off. Very cool. And, oh yeah, drugs are bad. ------------------ Rockets need power forward. Mo near now. Go near Mo. You can Run from the bet, you can Rave at the bet...but you just can't hide.
I followed a band around one summer after my sophomore year in college. That is all I have to say about that..... ------------------
That summer left an indelible handprint on my psyche.... <font color="white"> [This message has been edited by Kingrene (edited July 11, 2001).]
There are over 170 different species of Psilocybine mushrooms. Psilocybine or Psilocybe is the active chemical in mushrooms that give you the high. The only species I have ever dealt with is found in cow dung. It is a rare treat to come across a field after a nice summer shower and find a field of mushrooms. A gift from the gods! The best advice I could give is that you should go with someone who knows what to look for. The mushrooms I found had brown or gold colored caps. They will be anywhere from 1 to 6 inches in diameter and can get as thick as your thumb. The “meat” of the mushroom is a deep purple color that will come right off on your hands if you touch it (this is the drug!). Another indication is the stem (as mentioned before) it will have a purple coloration throughout. Break open the stem and you should see purple veins running the length of the stem. If you find these, you’re in like flint! Again, most likely the only place you will find this type is in cow pastures growing directly out of the dung. Unfortunately the feed that they give cows now a days will kill off the spores, so your best bet is to find a very large field that the cows aren’t fed every day and do a lot of grazing. There are several ways to prepare. The most often used is brewing tea. But the best highs I ever got were putting them into a spaghetti sauce or soup. Wash them carefully as to not wash out the Psilocybine (it will come off easily and you don’t want to lose as much as possible). DISCARD THE STEMS!!! This is where the strychnine is and you don’t want that (this is where most people make their mistake and get sick off of them). For four people we would prepare the sauce or soup and then take anywhere between 15 to 25 tops (depending on size) and cut them up and drop them into the sauce/food. I’m telling you you will see GOD! The last time I did this (about 9 years ago) there was 6 of us and for about the first 4 hours we could not get off the grass. I mean trippin!!!!! The best thing about Psilocybine is that is organic and natural. Not like LSD where the comedown is a crash. There is nothing like the comedown off of mushrooms. Colors are so bright it hurts your eyes. I never really Hallucinated on acid, I mean, I saw the walls move and trees burn green fire and lots of patterns. But on mushrooms! That’s when you see **** that ain’t there. O well I think I’ve incriminated myself enough for one day! Have fun and be careful The only other thing I would say is when you’re hunting, if your not sure, don’t pick it! Also, remember it is against the law so if you can't do the time, don't do the crime! ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
About 90% of the deaths due to mushroom poisoning in the United States and western Europe result from eating Amanita phalloides. This mushroom is recognized by its metallic green cap (the color may vary from light yellow to greenish brown), white gills (located under the cap), white stem, and bulb-shaped structure at the base of the stem. A pure white variety of this species also occurs. Poisoning results from ingestion of as few as one to three mushrooms. Higher death (mortality) rates of more than 50% occur in children less than 10 years of age. - from a medical website. ------------------
This isn't entirely true Psilocybin (4-AcO-DMT) is converted by your somach into Psilocin (4-HO-DMT). Or, ummm, so I've been told..... [This message has been edited by Ottomaton (edited July 11, 2001).]
Ok, for the "been hidden under a rock", "not so hipped", "dumb ass" reading audiences out there... the mushrooms you guys are talking about is actual mushrooms that you can pick off a field and that can get you high? Maybe, I would've enjoyed this type of "cream of mushrooms" more than Campbell's. ------------------ 15 years later... Zoom
When I get home from work and out from behind a fire wall , I'll drop what limited knowledge I have on the subject. "snicker" ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
Best experience and weirdest too was when a buddy of mine, a babe, and myself were in a hot tub drinking some shroom tea and champaigne. While she was doing her "thing" with the two of us, out of nowhere, all the bubbles in the hot tub began to have little faces on them. Kinda like the ones on this BBS. Anyway, I had lenghty conversations with many of them before they disappeared. But I can also say that those were BC days 15 years can change your attitude a bit. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
Behad: Did you ever have to act completely sober while trying a drug? After my senior year of highschool before college, I had a "wild phase." Tried acid once, loved it. Tried it twice, liked it. Tried it a 3rd time... and two friend and I were taking a walk at like 11:30pm. In my own neighborhood... doing nothing suspicious. Three police cars converged on us out of nowhere. Evidently, someone had called and reported two white male "prowlers." There was a girl with us, but they still felt the need to interrogate us. Never been so terrified in my life. Never tried any drugs since, other than a little pot. I replied to everything in a perfect monotone, and actually acted really sarcastic with them. My friends were really polite, and were shocked by my behavior. Not belligerent... but definitely mocking. They were really pissed, but they certainly couldn't prove we were doing anything illegal, so we went home. Seemed surreal at the time. It still scares me when I realize how close I came to having my life half-ruined. ------------------ Clutchcity.net... source for all your Rockets, Astros, political, music, humor, and Gordita news.
