I hear it's the time to buy but has anyone actually bought a car in today's market? Did you get some amazing deal? If so, where and what type of car? Me and my wife are looking to buy a car soon, i'm just wondering if the dealers are as desperate to sell as i've heard they were.
I just recently bought a 2005 Nissan Altima last month. I believe the price they were trying to sell it for was 12500 but my dad got it lowered for 11k. It needed a side mirror fixed and they said they wouldn't fix it since they lowered the price over a 1000 dollars. You just have to be real aggressive with those people and and don't take no for an answer when you ask for the price you want.
"Saved by zeerroooo... saved by zero, saved by zero" God I hate that song so much... but it is stuck in my head, and I cant get it out. That's the only deal i know of for cars (0% apr for toyota). Buy an american car though. AMERICA FTW.
I bought an 08 Dodge Charger a few months ago. They lowered the price but not as much as I wanted. They did throw in a spoiler, window tint, fog lights and $500 for new speakers / stereo.
We just bought a fully loaded 2009 Camry Hybrid with Nav for just under $30k and they gave us 1.9% financing. It is a super great car.
I wanted to ask the same question, good thread. I am thinking about buying a car as well, looking into an SUV, something along the lines of Trailblazer or Envoy. If not should I get a small car? looking to spend 8,000-12,000 What do you guys think?
I got a 2008 BMW 335i 6k miles used for 10k off the sticker price. I love that car. It is a little pricy tho.
Don't forget the most important feature of any used car: MILEAGE The more miles, the less the ancillary features matter, because heated cup holders have no practical usage in the shop.
White Nissan Altima with 55k miles. Power everything, sun roof, 17" Alloy wheels, rear wing and other good stuff. The reason why I got it for that price was because it had to be cash.
Well ONE of the reasons I got it for that price. I was in the market for that car for awhile, but I waited and waited for the best deal and I got it. The only little bad thing about the car is that it has some minor hail damage, couple little dents here and there but thats nothing!
I think there's a dealer up here in Dallas giving away $100 in Ford stock as an incentive... don't laugh... you never know... Somebody correct me, but usually November is a good time to buy a new car, December not as good, but then it becomes better again in January and February. This year, the discounts are everywhere - just threaten to leave. Hehe. Unless the model is in demand, they're trying to get rid of inventory. I've read people getting thousands off on G37's or G35's (can't remember). I have about 110k on my '04 TL, and I seriously considered getting a new car, but decided not to. I'm going to hang onto this for another 40,000 miles at least, if possible.
If you're financing, buy when they have the special APR. For a Toyota, that would be now. Honda is offering 1.9% on most of their models. Not sure what the others are offering.
