Charge is better then a block. It's that simple.

Yao, you didn't hear that. For you - block is way way way better

i believe stern is the culprit. he sets the protocol for what refs can call. he dictates the game. he lets the lakers comback against us. someone slap that idiot.

scola has always been flopping even on offense. its frustrating since he never takes the ball strong but always corkscrews his layup attempts. although hes good enough to make most of his attempts.

I do think to a certain degree the Rockets defense is designed to take charges / flop (the term used depends largely on whether you are a Rockets fan or a fan of the opposing team). Since the team really doesn't have good perimeter defense nor an interior defender, the team tends to have a weak side defender position just outside the half circle to take a charge. The key to that is their timing (getting to the spot and establishing position). Opponents must know the Rockets do it, yet yet it seems to work often enough.

That all said... I would rather have better perimeter defense and an interior defender, since refs tend to swallow the whistles down the stretch.

Daryl Morey turned our team to a bunch of floppers. I wish Jordan Hill would get more playing time. That guy is a warrior on the offensive boards.

JVG once said 'you don't accept in winning, what you wouldn't accept in losing'

I agree with this post and the OP. I am a Rocket fan and certainly root for them to win, but I am finding this team harder and harder to watch. I just can't respect a team that doesn't play defense. I keep hearing that defense (and rebounding) are about effort, and apparently our team just won't make that effort.

I really liked the JVG/Sura/Wesley team. I felt like they laid it out every night. With a good defensive team, no matter how far behind we fell, you knew we were going to hang a 15 point quarter on them and we would have a chance to get back into the game. With this team, no matter how large of a lead we have it is hard to enjoy for fear that we will choke it away in the fourth.
