The title of thread says "Harvard's Jeremy Lin close to signing with the Warriors."

Does Kentucky or Duke have a Jeremy Lin, too?

In any case, congrats to Harvard's Asian Jeremy Lin!

The fact that both Harvard players and Asian decent Americans have not made the NBA for about half a century makes this a big deal. Who cares about Kentucky or Duke players. They are a dime a dozen.

Very happy he's from Harvard. It's not that notable when a UK or Duke player makes the NBA. Harvard is nerd central.

The only reason to watch the Warriors is to watch Stephen Curry.

For now its a good situation for him but in the long run, this decision will hurt him financially a lot when his contract is up. Because like you said the inflated stats, which will hurt him even if he does good. Case in point. Anthony Morrow shot lights out while he was there and some might think with his stats he would of gotten a 30 mill deal. Instead he only got 12 mill for 3 years while Wesley Matthews from Utah signed a 34 mill contract with the Blazers.

Smart career move. Playing in GS will get him a good contract in his future.

    Cool. Good to see.
Great location for Lin, I love the Bay Area.
People always try to hate on this kid, saying any popularity or liking at all is only from asians, because he is asian. That they glorify anything he does, even if it sucks, just because of that.
Must be like white people and Eminem. Now to be fair, EM is really good.......but not since 2001-ish has he done anything that impressive.
And I'm mixed...so not trying to take "sides" here.

He hasn't signed it yet, so hold your horses.

They're probably waiting to see if LA and Mavs come up with a better deal :)

I came in this thread to say exactly this. The guy is almost certainly never going to do anything in this league, and he's getting almost as much attention on here as Lebron.

He's already accomplished more than you ever will in your lifetime.

Haters gonna hate, but an Asian American making it to the NBA undrafted (while not offered a single D1 scholarship) is quite impressive. People who say he's overrated don't know what that word even means. He's been underrated his entire life when it comes to basketball, and now it looks like somebody is finally going to take a chance on him.

    In basketball? Certainly.

Life in general? I wouldn't say that.

good for him, fast pace team with offensive style and unstable starting PG.

Nelson is crazy, even that can work out in favor for Lin. Who knows.
