Honestly, if you did that as a white or asian female with few extracurriculars... maybe a 33% shot, I'd say. FWIW.

Point is his acceptance was clearly not a fluke.

There's none so blind as those will not see.......

Edited to add: No one, or no group, in the USA today is really "Oppressed." So that is a false dichotomy or framing or whatever.

Now, is there clear bias against whites and white men, in academia, media, govt, and now the private sector as well? Yes there is.

Which power group is imposing this bias against white men when it is white men who control the media, academia, and the private sector, at least for the most part?

Data. (Apologies to biff17 for posting facts with out an opinion attached.)

    Harvard admissions demographics from 2016
    Non-resident aliens (foreign students): 24%

Not counting foreign students, subtract those to get percentages on American students:

    White: 58% of Harvard non-aliens
Asian (includes Indian): 18% of Harvard non-aliens
Hispanic or Latino: 11% of Harvard non-aliens
    Black or African-American: 8% of Harvard non-aliens
American Indian or Alaska native: 1% of Harvard non-aliens
Native Hawaiian or other Pacific islander: 1% of Harvard non-aliens

    Harvard admissions v. US demographics
    White non-Hispanic: -2%
    Asian: +12%
    Hispanic or Latino: -7%
    Black or African-American: -5%
American Indian or Alaska native: 0
Native Hawaiian or other Pacific islander: 0

Women dominate media and academia and govt; all exert influence on the private sector. Nothing wrong with anyone getting ahead, of course.

But I, and increasingly others as well, get irate when government imposes quotas, a la California and corporate boards; and of course there is a larger SJW narrative that is being imposed on the broader culture by media and academia -- I dislike this too.

Back to Harvard: I will concede this -- any elite school like this is going to have thousands of more applicants than it can accept. Everyone who applies has great grades, SAT, etc. So, the decision on whom to accept is going to have to be almost arbitrary, in a way. I think someone pointed this out above.

I think the issue people have with this is that Harvard accepted this dude, and then said: "oooops, wait a minute, you're out." Some kind of warning would have been much better, if anything was to be done at all.
