Actually the bible (god) defines marriage as 1 man and (possibly) many women.

 

So, why should we make law that effects all people based on a specific religion if all people do not subscribe to said religion?

There are at least 5 different major religions and dozens if not hundreds of subsects of those religions....why is your religion so special that we should take it's dogma as law?

That is what it boils down to for me....I studied many religions over the years and I reject them all....I dont want nor do I need your religion to tell me or anyone else what I can and can not do legally as a citizen of this country.

You miss the point of his music obviously.

Bob Marley was all about folks being happy with whoever they want being free to do as they wish.

marriage... meh.. let two people be together if they want to.. if they are not hurting anyone else why is it my business or the goverments? The goverment should get out of the whole marriage thing.... i am all for the right of a religious institution not wanting to recogzine same sex marriage but at the same time another institution has all the rights to say otherwise..

 

Why do people keep saying "government should get out of the whole marriage thing." A lot of laws are based on marriage: visitation right, property, pension, taxes etc. so how do expect the government to get out of the marriage business?
