Dallas is stated that they are going to over him a 4/95m contract on July 7th. However no where I can find says that he has accepted that offer or even wants to play in Dallas. Just because they stated their intention to offer that contract does not mean they have a commitment from him.

We would have to move a bunch of pieces like Ariza/Brewer/KJ/Beverly for cap space or a player like Noel on a rookie contract.

Then we could offer that contract to Barnes and still have around 6.5 m to sign a PG like Llull and go over cap to sign DMo.

Is Barnes worth it? Maybe worth it just to screw with the Mavs.

I wanted to go after him because he's 24 and still have tremendous upside, has an all around game, and considering we just paid 28 yr old Anderson $20 mil, Barnes for $22 is better for the future. And whether any team realizes it right now, they are all playing for the future.

I'd be shocked if Ariza+Beverly+KJ+Brewer can land Noel.

Yes, max Harry Barnes, pay $20M Ryan Anderson, pay injury prone Eric Gordon ... Rockets are really going places!

After watching Harrison Barnes throughout the playoffs, i really do not want him on this roster.

He'll be in the league for a while, but if he is a top 3 player for you, you have problems

Should of maxed Barnes instead of paying Anderson. But what's done is done, let's go make lemonade. Still need a rim protector and rebounder.

Dude rode the Warriors wave hard. I don't think he's as good as people make him out to be

These statements about "tremendous upside" and "all-around" game aren't accurate at all. His skill set is very limited. He's an okay spot-up shooter that will occasionally score on cuts (when defenses ignore him) or his one or two dribble Rudy Gay dribble pull-up. Outside of that, you're getting nothing else from him offensively. He doesn't attack, isn't a playmaker and almost never gets to the FT line.

Being young or being drafted high or going to North Carolina doesn't automatically mean you have upside.
