The only way I could see Klay leading a team to the playoffs as the star of the team is if he had a system in place that would allow him to get open looks off screens. As it stands, he has not had to work as hard getting shots the last few years because of the system the warriors run. You put him in a system where has to ISO and I definitely don't think his numbers would be very good.

Klay would have to improve his handles if he wanted to be a successful number one option. I think of Ray Allen as his ceiling. Ray was a very good scorer and had decent enough handles to create and help others around him be better. He definitely needed a system to be a successful player but he was able to deviate from the system and create for others when the going got tough. Klay, I don't feel he has this in his game yet.

Barnes as a primary scorer will fail like us trying Ariza as a primary scorer years ago.

I don't see it. He looks like a superstar for stretches when Curry or Draymond are out and when he's unconscious and can't miss. But the key word is stretches. Over the course of a full season I think he'd get exposed badly. I don't think he could be a number 1 option on a playoff team year in and year out unless he had a 1b sidekick. He's just not a complete enough player IMO. Great shooter, very good defender, good at creating his own shot but not very good at creating shots for others and a terrible rebounder.

He reminds me a lot of Peja Stojakovic. The guy was a stud back in then early mid 00's. Won a ring, Excellent shooter, clutch, won a couple 3 of contests, made a few all star games, finished on all NBA 2nd team, finished 3rd or 4th in MVP voting one year. Carried the stacked Kings squad when Webber was injured and people wondered if he could be a #1 option as well.

Klay's a great complimentary star but a true superstar that leads a team to the playoffs as a #1 option? There's only so many guys that consistently did that in their careers and most of them are in the HOF.

Jeff Green, ummm I mean Harrison Barnes improved his shooting tonight going 1 for 4.

Including the NBA Finals and 3 pre-season games, he has improved his shooting to 18% the last 10 games

Where did I say Reggie was better or worse than Harden? Did Reggie lead pacers just fine?

Barnes sucks a major fat donkey dong. Bogut on the other hand, was a prize pick up. I hate the guy, and for as dirty a player as he is, he is equally that good of a passer. Dude is really skilled.

Barnes is purposely missing shots and will continue to do so this season. He'll turn it on in the playoffs, people will be fooled. Damn, what a genius he is.

Last summer he viewed DeAndre Jordan as a "Shaq-like" player for the Mavs, so you might be on to something.

Thats terrible lol. They could have paid Yi Jianlian for a fraction of that contract and still get better production.

Cuban is desperate. Dallas should have bottomed out and rebuild a long time ago.

Should have kept Tyson Chandler, made one last run and bottomed out. Cuban couldn't have played it any worse, which is great .

    Yep.

I know Cuban would never admit it but it's clear he's taking the mindset that many Eastern teams do. That is his main goal is making the playoffs and not so much building a contender. He's never going to lure a superstar FA there with an aging Dirk, all he can do is sign vets and put the best team he can put out on the floor. Which for the past few years has resulted in a mediocre team.

I know someone will say "Don't the Rockets do the same thing? Build for the playoffs?" yes, but I think the Rockets are in a better position for luring a superstar FA because they have a MVP caliber player in his prime. Dallas doesn't. They are just threading water until Dirk retires, when he does they should bottom out and rebuild. I hope they don't. I hope even when Dirk retires Cuban continues to go after middling vets who are good enough to top out at being a mediocre team but not bad enough to get you a top 5 pick.

I've been saying for the past two years that this guy was going to screw someone over horribly whenever he becomes a free agent. And I'm not even wanting kudos for having that foresight. Everyone should've seen this coming.

Average to slightly above average at best.

You basically just described Reggie Miller. Just saying...

It's one thing to be the 4th or 5th best player on the floor with Curry, Thompson and Green

Its another thinh to be a supporting player to 56 year old Dirk, Deron Williams' husk, and JJ Barea.

But at least he played better than Wes Matthews?
