I like the many 6'9" power forwards that we already have on our team.

Scola and Landry both are capable of putting up just as good of numbers as Harrington.

Agreed, and Harrington is known to go soft on the boards. He is also a chucker and too undersized to play C. We already have a log jam at the 4 spot so he can't play there. He has played C for the Warriors but they are an all-offense, "who gives a crap about defense" team.

The bottom line: He is overpaid, doesn't fit our needs and we don't have room for him and his contract even if he did.

Do you think we're willing to part with what it might take to get him? I'm thinking Scola at the minimum.

I agree with all the posters who don't want Al Harrington on the Rockets.

wrong board. Nothing to do with rox, and hopefully will never ever be any how related to rox. Except for being dunk on by someone on the rox contract.

Some of you guys are funny.

    Back up PF/C?!?!

Right. This guy is a tweener. Can't guard SF's and can't guard PF's, what makes you think he can guard C's and play there? Just because Nellie runs him there, doesn't mean it makes him a C. Nellie just likes throwing crazy line-ups which confuse the world.

morey said they want a 7" backup center. if we cant re-sign Mutombo, id rather get Brendan Haywood(5.5m) or Steven Hunter (3.4m) if we cant sign any young players. Steven Hunter for Head + Dorsey + cash. :D

Why is this in the GARM!? Surely we can't be suggesting trading for a tweener forward who is basically a pauper's Antoine Walker in his prime, who plays no defense and makes almost 10mil.

What is up with people being so high on Dorsey? People were saying Dorsey could replace Landry not so long ago, too.

Why doesn't he like Nellie anymore? What happened?

I know just a year ago, Nelson was saying that Harrington is one of his most favorite players he's ever coached.

How many 6'9 and under centers do the Rockets need??? Just say "no" to Uncle Al.

Instead find some way to get Kirk Hinrich! Now THAT is a moneyball trade.

    Hinrich/Francis/Brooks
    McGrady/Barry/Wafer
    Artest/Battier
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/Mutombo/Dorsey

what about eddie curry??? D'antoni doesn't like him. His salary is a problem at 9.7 mil a trade would probably have to include battier and head but at least he is taller than our SG.

I like Al, but not for the cost.

If we didn't have Scola, I'd be interested.

We've always needed a PF who could hit the jumper on the baseline, and I think we've found that in Scola.

Al would be redundant and expensive.
