You have basically reaffirmed my image of you as a middle aged ex hippie with a small pony tail and a balding head.

Jeff you fool. I told you!

No need to be surprised or shocked that you could make money. You have an eye. You could sell at any level/market you wanted.

    Anyway, congrats.

EDIT: twqrxyz - I forgot about that thread. Stuff like that is always interesting. I remember once Mango wrote that he pictured me as slightly balding with wire rimmed glasses or something. Pretty funny.

Wow, great job and nice pic! That's cool to find out they're searching flickr for pictures now. Next step: parlay this into a gig for Playboy.

Honestly, I'm trying to figure out why. How does being an amateur photographer make one a hippie?

    1. I have a full head of hair.
    2. I don't care for hippies.
    3. I hate folk music.
    4. I don't really consider being in your 30's middle aged, but whatever.
    5. The last time I had a pony tail, my hair actually reached my waist and I looked a lot more like James Hetfield than James Taylor. :)
    6. I have never owned a pair of Birkenstocks and, frankly, don't like them. They are freaking ugly.

I'm probably a lot closer to metrosexual than I am to hippie, as surprising as that may sound. :)

This is a recent shot of me in the stairwell at Rudyard's before a gig just for reference.

They pay, apparently, based on the type of release. In this case, because it is a re-issue paperback, it is less than, say, a new release hard cover. I don't think I'm supposed to reveal what they paid. It was under $1000.

I wouldn't take the term "hippie" as an insult, Jeff, but if it makes you feel any better, I never had any Birkenstocks myself. (had girlfriends that did) You shouldn't shut yourself off from "folk music," however. That's pretty silly. hotballa's description would fit me better than you, except I don't have a ponytail any longer, although I used to have hair way down my back, am "middle aged," and actually was a hippie for many years. Don't worry, I don't take your insult towards hippies personally, despite the fact that they did a lot for you, whether you realize it or not. :)

Good times and laughter. Now I imagine you more as Ivan Karamazov. Not quite Stavrogin material yet....

Folk music is just boring to me. I've listened to lots of it trying to find something I can like about it, but it just isn't for me. Listening to it makes me sleepy. :)

    Thanks again, everyone.

And, I should've mentioned earlier, that is a great pic, thegary.

"Now"? So it has changedfrom before? Ivan could certainly be an intellectual portrait (although it would be a negative one, would it not...in many ways he represented evil by trying to deny evil, by admiring Satan) but I don't think there would be too many physical similarities at the moment. I don't remember his physical description off the top of my head, though.

I guess you want to be Alyosha, right? Might as well be Fyodor, then.
