Whether it was by intention or not, your post is very racially charged and suggests that black voters in Harlem don't know a lick about politics.

It's a nasty stereotype being created, and posting here is shocking. I'm honestly offended as a minority that you would try to stereotype an entire group (Harlem voters) they way you have. And in previous posts, you have suggested that blacks are only voting for Obama because he is black. This despite that Harlem votes over 90% democratic anyway in previous elections.

My post isn't suggesting what you accuse -- but the interviewees' responses sure are, huh?

90% vote democratic, but how do you explain 90% of AA's voting for Obama over Hillary? Both are democrats, and Hillary has done a heck of a lot more for the black community. Explain that, please. Thanks.

but isn't it argued that INTENTION is the only way to judge if someone is racist or not?

Hillary hasn't done more for African American communities. The difference is that Obama was a better candidate that spoke to their issues more?

I wasn't talking about the couple of people on those clips. I was referring to TJ's quoting of 90%.

Surely you aren't saying that the people in this clip is representative of 90% of African American voters are you?

People I'm around, since I live in a pretty Republican area of DFW (and am in high school with those Republican students), assume Black people (like myself) only like Obama because he is Black. It only comes out at the end of a conversation when their ass is getting beat.

Yes, like will vote for like. That's not racism though TJ. That's different from voting against someone because of race. Jews wants to marry Jews - that's not racism. But if a Jew says Jews shouldn't marry blacks, it is. Because racism isn't about supporting your own kind - it's about discriminating against those who are not like you. I don't think you grasp that.

What you do is generalize antecedal stories into a wider proclaimation. Now you can try to excuse it by talking about the primary - but in fact, you are trying to rationalize that sterotype. Just the tone of your posts, and the comments you make *Balack Obama" not to mention the other play on words "Snobama" "Hussein" "Barry"...is pretty much on edge. No one keeps calling McCain "McCan't" or "Grandpa" or "Senility Man".

Mocking Obama for his race and the fact that Blacks would want to see a black man president - I mean, come on...it's a massive symbol.

I'm not accusing you of being a racist, I have no idea what is going in that head of yours. I really don't. Nor will I speculate. You certainly push the boundaries, and I commend you in your abilities to do it without losing your cool or getting banned. But in this case, I think you crossed over. I recommend you back down on this one. Because it's not looking pretty here. And defending this post...one that clearly doesn't represent the opinions of african americans, but clearly is just the opinions of a very small sample....is disturbingly Machivallean and disingenious.

I will give you props. Like I said, I admire you ability to get responses and play with the mice. I would get banned when I tried it. But this time, you went too far.

That intention is pretty clear is some cases. For example, if you deny a black man a job, and then tell your colleague you weren't interested because you would never hire a black man....that clearly that person is a racist.

In this case, TJ's intention is unknown, so I can't call him a racist, nor have i. But he's close. Dangerously close. Not just from this post, but the sum of all of his posts. There's a definitely pattern here.

It's because I am not sure of his intentions that I can't say definitively if he is a racist or not. So yes, intention is the way to judge. Right now, I'd put TJ in league with Al Sharpton, Farrakhan, and folks who fly the confederate flag.

Are they racist? Who knows, because it's hard to judge what their intentions are. But clearly, we wouldn't be surprised if they are infact are racists.

On a side note, today i drove past a truck with a confederate flag. These guys were sitting outside drinking beers and staring at me. "A guy shook his head and muttered something to himself", I smiled at them and said, "I love the confederate flag, it looks so cute - where can i get one....I love ancient history".

You did call him a racist. I know you will say you didn't but you did.

I'm not getting into this stupid argument.

Yikes. It's one thing to totally get the issues wrong, it's another to buy into hate mongering and misinformed religious biases (to put it politely).

In any case, all these videos are really depressing. I'm sorry to say I don't get a kick out of these at all. Every time I think our country has come a long way, stuff like this (and some posters on this bbs) makes me realize how far we still have to go.
