Defense is all about effort. Effort comes with energy. Energy comes with stamina. Stamina comes with being in shape. Harden isn't in shape... and he's saving energy by relaxing on defense... its pretty simple.
That and focus. Combine not having the two and what you get the is aforementioned Vine by Clutch. The dude lacks any modicum of discipline on defense. It's maddening and baffling at the same time. This is just the most basic rule of playing defense - seeing the ball and the man, not just the ball which is what Harden does 99% of the time.
