No players in the league beside Kobe, LeBron & Jared Jeffries should be considered untouchable.

Right on. A bargain to say the least, and the leader of this team for years to come.

Not to mention he is a good representation for what this team "should" be about. He & McHale have a fire to win at all costs which is somewhat rare to find nowadays. IMO you don't trade players with heart for soft, unmotivated players (Gasol).

we ain't that good. he is our best asset, you better believe he's on the trading block. the idea of building a team around him is just blown smoke from the azz of mgmt.

Well said good sir, and you split the arrow at the center of the target.

Everyone is on the block, the Rockets need upgrades no matter whom it costs.

These fans always spewing mediocrity, everyone in the league is "mediocre" if you don't win the chip or at least make the conference finals. Thank god these type of fans are the minority.

    TL;DR

Kyle Lowry is an all-star caliber player who is being paid like a high lottery pick rookie--and he's being paid that way through his peak years. He has one of the, if not the, best contract-to-value ratios in the entire league, especially among players of his quality.

That's why the blogger is saying he should be untouchable--because you can have Lowry (an all star caliber player) on your squad and still have room to add not two, but three max contract players around him.

The question of course is whether any of those players will ever agree to come to Houston...

This, you managed to make the point succinctly where the article took a few hundred words.

Agree, we just need one All-Star to pair with Lowry and others will come without having to take a pay cut. That's why the Pau trade veto was so devastating.

No players in the league beside Kobe, LeBron, Jeffries, Lin & J. Hill (as long as he has the hair) should be considered untouchable.

Including Lowry in a deal for another point would be insanity. If we're talking strictly about point guards, then he's definitely untouchable at least until his next contract.

    This is an intelligent post.
Kyle has improved since he arrived in Houston, and he is only going to get better.
Untouchable he is not but he is going to get very close to it.
