bayou billy was tough. effin gators. my hardest games were the ones with limited input by the user, meaning the nes and pc usually had some pretty tough games. games now basically are movies that you'll eventually play through. i still feel unfulfilled with some of the old nes and computer games. tough games: [NES] - punch out - back to the future - rygar - bayou billy - elevator action - fester's quest (addams family) (some i have beaten but after emulations offered to slow down the emulation) [PC] - another world - commander keen - ecoquest (Lost secret of the rainforest) - tie fighter - myst (havent found them now that im older to find closure)
This game was the hardest for me when I was growing up. I could never find the last zone. I spent countless hours searching for it. Now i see speed runs of this game, and I cry seeing how people can pass it so easily. Ninja Gaiden I was hard but when I passed man was it a glorious day. I remember running out of the apartment we lived at the time and doing a victory lap around the complex. I was like 9 at the time when I was playing these games and I am blown away at what games I managed to pass. I have them downloaded onto my Wii and have my nephews try to beat them, but I say don't look at the internet for help I didn't have that. The first Zelda was damn near impossible to beat if you didn't have other friends playing it and everyone helping each other out. Good times.

Any mega man series on the nes. Too much falling and too much spikes. That’s pretty much sum up my experience with it Ghost n goblins Stupid enemies projectiles and swoop attack at the same time on the screen. Battletoad One wrong move and you're gone silver surfer This is like a MIchael Bay film. Everything dies in an explosion and you can't touch walls or anything.
Bionic Commando on NES... I finally finished it using save states even that was hard. The HD remix on PSN was friggin hard too.
Those two take the cake, that's what I would put. Battletoads was harder then TMNT - just stupidly hard. I never really liked Ninja Gaiden but my friends always beat it up.
I don't get so many people citing TMNT as the most difficult game. Really, the only tough part is that last corridor in the Technodrome leading up to the final boss.
Ya battletoads was hard because u could die from everything even your partner hitting u with a big fist or Boot killed you... not to mention the 3rd level with the space karts and u could fall off the map and die all the time.
Metal Gear. When I first bought that game I was pissed! lol After I got the hang of it though, I was obsessed with finishing it. Another game that gave me big problems was Bionic Commando. I remember "camping" out in my back yard, complete with a TV, NES, and a toaster oven. My friends and I would stay up and play the hell out of BC. Then one night I got so pissed, I took the game out of the console and chunked it into the woods behind my house, lol. Of course, the next day I went and found it, and continued playing until I finally completed it 2 weeks later.
