The wild thing is a lot of the fanbase would support him if he wanted out. They would root for him to go to a contender and win a ring.

But, freezing everybody including the new coach out while partying in Vegas while the team is practicing to get ready for the season is not a good look.

If you're in, then let's get this Harden & Wall era started.

It just seems so odd. Seems the owner has done Harden's bidding. Harden's desire for WB is what made the GM resign. If Harden backed MDA more strongly, you'd think Tilman would have given him the extension he wanted. When WB said there's a lack of accountability - who was he referring to exactly if not Harden?

Harden was that pissed off in not getting John Lucas as the coach?

    What is Tilman doing bad?

Well he did not spend the money for the luxury tax when he said he would repeatedly, and when the Rockets had an opportunity to compete for a title.

Tilman did not pay Ariza what he cost and replaced him with Ennis to save money.

Tilman did not spend the money needed on basketball operations after saying he would.

Tilman has promoted internally because it would save money to do so.

Tilman did not give the kind of budget needed to hire quality assistant coaches.

Tilman publicly squabbled with his head coach over a few million dollars and made light of his age.

Tilman complained about extending Chris Paul and complained that he wasn't worth the money to other owners around the league.

Tilman also cut some staffing on the non basketball side of operations.

Tilman undermined his GM and humiliated him making him drag the owners son everwhere.

There has been a general feeling of concern within both the basketball side of operations and the non basketball side with job titles consolidated and unrealistic and unfair expectations.

Before Tilman, Daryl Morey usually had the ultimate call....... Tilman did the Westbrook trade against the wishes of the head coach and GM.

There were articles written when Tilman has only had the team a few months that the general culture and mood around the organization had changed.

Everyone involved in this are adults..... but the "Tilman factor" plays a large part in all of it.

Look on the bright side. Now Tilman can use the money he doesn't have to pay Harden this week, plus fining him for not showing up, to pay LT getting better role players.

Rings aren't as important when you team up with other superstars to get emm..... Hakeem earned his the hard way, Harden is just looking to land on the next super team. I don't care tbh...... If he wants to go, let him go. Get Simmons and call it a day. Either way, I prefer having true Americans in this team anyways....

I dont hate Harden... To say you have toxicity at the level of the Knicks is damning and you need to come with something that is at that level. Dolan alienating Knicks greats and fans like Spike Lee. Dolan would rather play in his band than improve his team.

Tillman is definitely the root evil of this whole cause. He started off his tenure with us by complaining about CP3s (the president of the NBPA with significant clout in the league) promised contract. He then made multiple moves after our WCF run to limit the teams ability to obtain role players and depth. Just a reminder he failed to use any of the MLE in 2 years. Would not keep ariza (doesn’t matter if you think he’s worth it or not but his salary has now been able to get players like rivers/Kelly oubre and then RoCo) Dumped a promising Melton to get off Anderson’s contract. Dumped knight and Chriss for nothing. Wouldn’t resign Shumpert for salary filler. Played hardball with House. Traded a first with capela to dump nene and Gerald green. And pushed for WB with a bevy of picks. We have a seen mass exodus of one of the most innovative stable and respected front offices in the league. He disrespected and pushed out a future HOF in MDA. He may become a great owner but everything he has done so far is worthy of a htx boycott from us.

If I were Harden I would want out too. In any normal situation him declining camp can be understood. I’d be in favor of him sticking it to the man. The two things that I feel are the root cause of our/my disappointment in him is if the rumors are true and pushed for the WB trade and now wants out? He really left us in the lurch. We’re fans of this team and will have to be here when we have no picks in a stacked draft class for a mistake perpetuated by harden.

also partying in a pandemic. Any. Normal holdout situation yeah have at it man. No one respects tilly here why should you. You don’t trust him or his pockets (way too many rumors about him being over leveraged). Hell tanking your trade value makes sense for your future team. I’d do the same thing. But to party during a pandemic? Peoples lives are on the line and at risk. People aren’t able to work, afford rent, get health care. It displays a real lack of awareness to be partying during a pandemic when so many people are suffering. The timing of his holdout and how the circumstances of it are what is pushing my disappointment in him

Plus that "Luxury Tax So High" retweet. Even not knowing these things, just embarrassing.

Nook, I understand ,and I appreciate you because you always bring your insider knowledge, but it just feels like this is not that bad for Harden to completely want out. Tilman being broke and nepotism to me does not foster a toxic culture on the level of the Knicks.

Read my post it’s that bad. Atleast Dolan doesn’t handicap his GM. He for all his faults spends and spends big. Tillman virtually had handicapped Morey from making any moves that would have turned this team into a contender via trades. You think signing scrubs like Ennis and Michael Carter Williams were Morey moves? Who vetoed trade deadline moves that could have turned this team into a contender because he didn’t want to pay tax?

Tillman turned a 65 game wining team into horse dumpling in a span of 36 months.

#1 The owner wasn't doing Harden's bidding, he wanted Westbrook because he wanted him. He even trumped the GM and HC that both wanted to keep Paul. Harden had been told the day before by Morey that likely WB wouldn't be a Rocket and was fine with it. Of course Harden preferred Westbrook, but a good GM and owner look longer term. Morey knew winning was what would keep Harden happy ultimately, not playing with his friend. #2 Harden was extremely close to Daryl Morey. They spoke often about non basketball issues and the owner falsely assumed that Harden's loyalty would extend to the Rockets. The reality is that the two people most close to Harden (DM and MDA) both left because of the owner and Harden knew that.
#3 Harden isn't blind and he isn't stupid. He saw Tilman dodge the tax and pass up opportunities to improve the team. He saw the improvements to the facilities never happened and that the money that was to be spent on player development never materialized. He say Tucker never got an extension after seeing the same thing happen to Ariza.
#4 Harden did back MDA and that is part of the problem. Tilman doesn't view the players as employment AND the product, but only as employees.
#5 As for Westbrook, he was talking about Harden but also just how the Rockets do everything. At the end of the day Westbrook didn't want to do things the way the Rockets do them, he wanted to be the franchise player, he wanted to decide how the Rockets played.... and that is why he is gone. The first thing he said in DC is that he will not change how he does things.

There is a lot going into this and what Harden is doing now is extremely predictable......... a few years ago he said "I just want to win", he has repeatedly said he doesn't care as long as he wins and once he saw the people close to him that he had confidence in gone, he lost confidence that he could win in Houston and wanted out.

Having said that, I still think Harden shows up to camp.

Thank you some people hate harden so much that they have lost all commonsense. If I was in a war theatre again I would want you by my side.

Dude, your information isn't proof of the emphasis of what Russ was told. You're saying he ignored his head coach and that's not what Royce said. ANY one on the coaching staff can give players suggestions, that someone told Russ to shoot here or there is no surprise, it's also no suprirse that Russ might have bucked the idea.

Did his coach tell him this? Yes or no?

TS% ? I'm talking about his overall efficiency, IDGAF about one stat. Harden's TS% is better than Lebron's and Hakeem's, game is more than shooting, one day yall will realize that.

Yes and beat writers have a vested interest in fluffing up stories to make them sound more exciting than they really are.

I don't have a disdain for statistical fact, I have a disdain for twisting numbers to support a faulty narrative...and when you tell me your numbers mean Westbrook isn't a winning player, despite high usage and being on a winning team then I say your numbers lied. It's really that simple. When your numbers tell me this player is more efficient than Hakeem or Lebron, I can't put much stock in your numbers.

I mean, that's how you feel about it, but again, you're looking at numbers. Apparently, young coaches were supposed to limit the growth of their young player because of numbers and stats! Make sure he doesn't work on the weaknesses of his game because the data we have says...limiting Russ at that age would have made him a worse player. Again, there's a reason they want giannis and Ben Simmons to shoot more and it's not because of numbers and data, it's because they know the only way players get better is by doing what they do in practice in games.

Remind you of anything? Oh yeah, like how Harden has close to 0 mid range or post game because Rockets wanted to spam lay ups and threes.
